These two machines are now really tempting with the addition of AMD chips, but I still don't like their batteries. Discussion on that here!

Battery: Not ideal. 61wh without modifications, but since the Framework Laptops are easily modifiable, it may be a good idea to give a battery swap a try! I could machine a lower case replacement using in the machine shop, then stick in a compatible battery.
This is (somehow) a lot cheaper than other options, but needs additional research to rationalize buying everything.
Display: Perfect! 3:2 and just under 1600p, at 1504p. >400 nits!
Panel size: Perfect! 13.5 inches!
Processor: Perfect! Ryzen 7k is said to be really easy on battery.
Linux support: Yes!
