Add chart: Proportion of awards with competitive contracting processes over time

Chart details:

  • Type: Single Line Chart
  • Title: Proportion of awards with competitive contracting processes over time
  • Description: Identify which times of the year does competition suffer.
  • X-axis → Month and year
  • Y-axis → Proportion of awards

Additonal details:

  • Timestamp to use the date of the compiled release.
  • Zoom into shorter time periods.

Chart details:

  • Type: Horizontal bar chart

  • Description: Identify who are the bidders with the highest number of red flags. Note that bidders may become suppliers.

  • One box plot for each price category. Users can select the item category using the dropdown.
  • Users can select up to 5 item categories to compare.
  • Include only item categories with a reasonable number of procedures. We need to check the data to select the threshold.

Additional details:

  • Exclude buyers with very few procedures. Check in the data what is the reasonable threshold. Eg. > 100 procedures.
  • Only the top 10 bars with the highest proportion are to be displayed.

Additional details:

  • This is not the count of red flags (which can be in the thousands), rather how many of the different red flags have been detected (R022, R023, R024, R028, R025, R034 etc...)

  • Description: Understand the amount of public spending that goes on competitive contracting processes.

Additional details:

  • This calculates the proportion of bidders that have +1 red flags.

  • Description: See which item categories have a higher market concentration. A market with a HHI index above 2500 is considered highly concentrated.
  • X-axis → Market Concentration HHI index (0-10,000)
  • Y-axis → Item category

Additional details:

  • Only the top 10 bars with the highest market concentration are to be displayed.
  • The tooltip should indicate the number of contracting processes for that particular item

  • Description: See if there are seasonal patterns in the proportion of tenders that only have a single bidder. Note that you can have a competitive process, but still only have a single bidder.

  • Calculate this only for competitive contracting proceses.

  • Description: Identify if there is a higher collusion risk in specific item categories
  • X-axis → Proportion of contracting processes in item category with collusion detection red flags (0-100%)
  • Y-axis → Item category

Red flag name This indicates if the red flag is present. A column for each flag should be added (see table below). Users to see visually via colour that there is a red flag.The column headings will have names for each flag rather than F1, F2…

Market concentration This is a calculation that uses the Herfindahl–Hirschman Index (HHI). Formula → HHI = s21 + s22 + s23 + s24 + ….s2nwhere S2n = the market share percentage of firm n expressed as a whole number.HHI can range from close to 0 (near perfect competition) to 10,000 (a monopoly).  
Average unit price This is a calculated field.  
Median unit price This is a calculated field.  
Standard deviation of the unit price This is a calculated field.
