Current IDE environment is having an issue about openhab-addons HOT 10 CLOSED

Thanks for noticing - this was actually a bug in the documentation - the compilation errors are actually only gone in step 6.

Unfortunately the issue is as far as I can see bit bigger than the documentation.
Also when selecting the proper target platform with

-1. Select the target platform by selecting Window->Preferences->Plug-in Development->Target Platform->"openHAB 2" from the main menu.

the issue remains.(screenshot was after selecting the right openhab 2 platform.

I can't really pinpoint what is the issue, but seems something is strange with the https://github.com/openhab/openhab2/blob/master/targetplatform/openhab.target file

Can you open the file openhab.target in the target platform editor? Does it manage to resolve it or does it show errors?

Tried that but no, it does not resolve it. It gives an error unable to locate installable unit. Clicking update for the line that I expect will provide the bundle (e.g. jetty) does not resolve the matter.

in the list on the content tab, the 'add required' is grey hence can't add anything there. Also on that tab, I don't see any of the org.eclipse.smarthome... don't know if that is normal

I see this happening from time to time as well - I guess it is due to some interrupted download of p2 metadata.
My usual workaround is to open the openhab.target file with the text editor and increase the "sequenceNumber" at the top. This retriggers the resolution and usually it works after another try.

Hi Kai,
Tried your solution several times, but still no luck. Indeed it will do full reload but still no error-free list.
seems to be stuck on serveral files that can't be found in the repository e.g.
"org.apache.commons.httpclient.source" version="3.1.0.v201012070820"
"org.eclipse.emf.sdk.feature.group" version="2.10.0.v20140519-0339"

Is this just a problem in the IDE and the Maven build works and is able to resolve the TP?

I think it is only an issue with the IDE indeed, specifically I think it is an issue with the IDE based on Yoxos.

I have just improved the target platform by not using composite p2 repos anymore, see 20f8a84
In my case this speeds up the resolution tremendously and I would hope that it also makes it more reliable. Could you update your clone and see if this might help?

Indeed significant speedup with the new target platform. Good!
However,the issue I believe is that the failing ones are due to the Yoxos profile.
I have not been able to setup a working profile using the yoxos profile. The only way I got it to work was to download a fresh eclipse luna and install manually the add-ons.

Guess after the release a new yoxos profile can be build not referencing the unavailable versions
