brp-extract-appdata's Issues

72-translate-appdata fails

When building a package with translated desktop and appdata.xml file the script 72-translate-appdata fails (below).

`
[ 31s] ... running 72-translate-appdata

[ 31s] error: incorrect format: array iterator used with different sized arrays

Appdata extraction failing on SLE15, Leap 15 and newer

Running a private OBS here. The customer is starting to use a lot of appdata, and distributing internal software via GNOME Software (the "store"). Everything works fine with SLED 12 SP4. OBS extracts the appdata.xml files and icons properly, and publishes them to the repositories.

However, when we added anything newer, like openSUSE Leap 15.0 ou SLE 15, the appdata is not extracted at all, and no appdata/appicon information is generated in the repodata directory.

I noticed that this is mentioned in the build logs for every package that doesn't work:

[ 63s] ... running 72-translate-appdata
[ 63s] error: incorrect format: array iterator used with different sized arrays

Also, SLED 12 SP4 uses brp-extract-appdata-2012.02.13-4.1 version whereas all others seem to use this one:

[44/137] cumulate brp-extract-appdata-2016.05.04-1.23

Please note that the packages themselves are exactly the same. All we did was to enable the builds for SLE15/Leap15/SLE15-SP1/Leap15.1, and the appdata does not get extracted for these. The builds on SLED 12 SP4 work perfectly, as it uses the older version of brp-extract-appdata.
