Hi josemussa,
We deprecated the activate notification because we’re implementing event batching. With event batching, we are planning to add a new notification that triggers when a batch of events (which could contain both impression and conversion payloads) is sent. Impressions come from activate, isFeatureEnabled, getEnabledFeatures APIs, and conversions come from the track API. Version 3.1.x does not have event batching, so you can continue using the activate notification in that version.
The documentation should reflect that getVariation triggers the decision notification - we will fix it. Thanks for catching this error.
