According to https://sites.google.com/site/qaacpage/, qaac can't handle opening mka files, and simply changing the extension of the output file to .wav (like how it was documented before 827f690) doesn't change the fact that the files are written with Mastroka headers and a FileExtension_Invalid : mkv mk3d mka mks error flag.

"Fixing" this would require adding a dependency on FFmpeg, which is something I'd like to avoid for now.

If you insist on using qaac instead of better alternatives such as libopus, you can use the following FFmpeg command to remux the output file into something qaac can read.

ffmpeg -i cut.mka cut.wav  # (or cut.flac if qaac can use libFLAC.dll)
