Print To 3D - Slice your design to gcode

Print-To-3D Download on the App Store

Finally, 3D printing comes to iPad !

Right from the start, with an awesome, native UI for the incredible M1 iPads. In just a few moments, you can slice your 3D design, upload the gcode to your 3D printer (e.g. powered by Octoprint) and your print can start. An excellent companion for your 3D design app like Modeler 3D.

Move, rotate and zoom your models. Select your 3D printer from an extensive list, tune the slicing process with an outstanding amount of settings. Analyze the slicing results for fill pattern, support, rafts, number of shells and much more.

Selection of features:

  • 44 FDM 3D printers supported
  • Load STL- and OBJ-Files
  • Can define pre/post printing G-Code commands - specific for your printer
  • Modify the default printer settings as per your needs
  • Upload your gcode file directly to your octoprint server
  • Full control of the slicing process
  • Supports hex, grid, linear, triangle, gyroid, vase infills
  • Supports brim/raft/number of shells, top/bottom layers....
  • Easy setting of nozzle and bed temperature
  • Specialized settings available for the critical first layer.
  • and, and, and...

print-to-3d's Issues

how can I add my own printer settings?

I have Elegoo Neptune 3 Pro but I could not find the related configuration among the base printers. How can I add my printer's profile or could you help me find the configurations?

App stopped slicing and unable to save gcode to device or sd

So I have a monthly subscription and it has been working well for about a week. Just the other day it stopped slicing my STL files when I select slice it sits forever and it never slices, but if for some miraculous reason it does after 100 attempts and three hours of pulling my hair out, it doesn’t allow you to share or save the G code, to your device or your external SD card. At this point, I’m paying for a service that doesn’t work at all. Please help me I’ve tried everything.

Impossible to saving

Hello, i can’t save the gcode on my micro sd.
The button télécharg/save si grey, not blue.
It’s very frustating.
I begin and it’s the 2nd day with this app.
The object is sliced.

i have a abonnment ´ i have pay,

why fix this problem ?

Ender 3 s1 pro extrusion values

Every time that I use this to slice anything it does not seem to extrude correctly. Calculations in mainsail show it using well under half as much filament compared to the identical, file, sliced identically, in cura.

How to add Supports?

I’m looking to add supports to an object, it is not clear on how to do it. Any help would be appreciated.

How can I get settings for filament types line PLA, PETG etc.?

I'm trying to adjust the settings manually by looking to my prusa slicer settings but I really could not understand much of the settings as they are not named same as printto3d app. Are there any presets for filament type and detail? Like if I want to print really high detail or just normal with PLA, PETG etc., are there any preset settings? or can I import settings from my prusa slicer app?

Add pause command between layers

Great to have finally a slicer on iPad and the sliced view is just great.

Is there a way to pause the print after a selectable layer, so that filament can be changed or e.g. a magnet embedded in the part ?

Import Cura profiles

Is it possible to import Cura printing profiles?

I currently have some custom profiles I would like to transfer to the app but can’t find away without manually adding them

Licence

So the repo is set to MIT, but it seems to have files that list it as having "CuraV2" as a source, which is licensed under LGPL and AGPL respectively.

If this is what is used for the app presented here (https://apps.apple.com/ca/app/print-to-3d/id1614819811) I think you might need to release more source code than what you've done here. If you made any modifications to the CuraEngine (which as far as I understood it, also includes compiling it for IOS), you also need to make this public under AGPL.

cant select model

When I have more than one model on the buildplate, I am unable to select certain Models. I am only able to select the first model that I added.

System: Ipad Pro 11” 2020 (2nd gen)

How to reproduce:
Put more than 1 model on the build plate -> Try to select second model -> Nothing happens…

Expected behaviour:
Model is selected manipulation menu(move rotate mirror…) opens

Spiral Vase Mode

Great app so far and love that I can use on my iPad. Is there a setting to make make vase infill spiral instead of creating new layer and having the seam?

Thank you and keep up the good work!

Cutting function

Hello and thank you for the great app ❤️!

I have a question is it possible to cut parts in slicer?

Operation couldn’t be completed - error while slicing

Hello, I keep getting this error when trying to slice my model

I’m running the app on a M4 iPad Pro with the top tier of hardware.

IMG_0067

Also for some reason the scale of the model is all wrong when imported in the app, like it’s 1/10 of what it should be.

Slicing stuck / does not complete

The cog animation stops spinning and the slicing never finishes, even with tiny and fairly simple objects. Sometimes it’s able to slice after removing one of multiple objects or disabling supports. But this makes the app unusable for me unfortunately. Back to Cura on my MacBook…
