This is why Aequitas exists

I'm so glad to see you bringing attention to this. I think of it as fundamentally a case of late-binding being better than early binding (preserve the error information as long as possible and convert to an opaque string representation as late as possible, ie. in the view).

This is a big part of why I wrote Aequitas (emmanuel/aequitas). Writing a new validations library was perhaps unnecessary (eg., as opposed to updating ActiveModel as you've done). However, I feel there are several parts of how ActiveModel validations works that are unnecessarily limiting, and I wanted to experiment with a clean slate.
