So I installed the module and all working good but when om browsing Google often there is 'sponsored' content. You click it but the page won't load.

I tried removing the module but it doesn't solve my issue, my best guess is that you get redirected to a host that is blocked, preventing the you from redirecting.

I installed the module, after restarting I open soundcloud and the ads are still there.
I haven't tried anything else.

After installing the module using the magisk app, the module took my root permission from the Redmi Note 10s device Also deleted my recovery twrp

The YouTube app crashes on start up with this module and YouTube AdAway (https://github.com/wanam/YouTubeAdAway) enabled.

Can I unzip the module, edit the hosts file, zip it again and then flash it? Or is there some special process to make the zip flashable. I find this module much more sufficient than using DNS66 or Adaway.

Ads blocking does not work in the app Batteryguru v2.2.5.1 for both AdBlock v3.19 & v3.20 while it still works for AdBlock v3.18.

I can't whitelist or blacklist any website because my rom is read only system partition !

The default functionality of the module works fine with Kernel SU. But the add and remove options do not work. The reason for this is the lack of access to /etc/hosts file.

Wtf.. remove the fucking porn list. It's important. Is there a way to whitelist it?

I installed the module in magisk but the ad blocker isn't working. So I replaced the hosts file with the one on github (updated yesterday) but still no ads are being blocked anywhere, neither website ads nor in any app.

I have tried using 2.11, 2.10, 2.9, and 2.8 installed with Magisk 27 and lsposed. The hosts file is not being updated i.e. using 'cat /etc/hosts' prints the 2 default hosts entries.

QUICK_FIX (i am not responsible for any damages caused by not following precautions of being root):
Since this is a magisk module it is safe to assume that root privileges are possible.

• Get root in termux with su
• Download the latest module on your phone and unzip it
• the AdBlock hosts file is 'system/etc'/hosts in the downloaded zip and rename it to something just to be safe. I used adblockhost
• cd to the 'system/etc' directory in the extracted zip folder
• 'su cat adblockhost >> /etc/hosts'

I am repeating myself. Be very careful as a slight typo has a chance to ruin your phone. I will not be held responsible for that. This is just a quick fix till the repo author's scripts are fixed
