Implementation of Data Compression Algorithms

The goal is to encode and decode binary message bits using text file of size 1KB using different techniques and compare their results

Algorithms implemented

  • Simple encoding
  • Huffman coding
  • Extended Huffman encoding
  • Arithmetic coding

How to Run

Download python3 and required packages then run

To run simple encoding

python3 simple_encoding.py

To run huffman encoding

python3 huffman_coding.py

To run extended huffman encoding

python3 extended_huffman.py

To run aritmetic coding

python3 arithmetic_coding.py
