Download | Features | Report a problem | Donate

YouTube + (codename Particle) is focused on providing an extended YouTube experience.

Current support is being provided for:
Firefox 48+ Greasemonkey 3.2+
Chrome 42+ Opera 42+ Tampermonkey 3.10+

At the moment no support will be provided outside these platforms. YT+ supports only YouTube's HTML5 player, some features will not work when using YouTube's flash player.

Due to time and framework limitations I am unable to accept any more feature requests.

[Firefox] Playlist autoplay does not work

Browser Name: Firefox

Browser Version: 42 nightly

Operating System: W7x64

Software Type: userscript from greasyfork

Software Version: 0.3.9

Userscript Manager: Greasemonkey

Userscript Version: Greasemonkey 3.2

Problem Description: I load my playlist with music and at the end of one video, the next video loads but it does not start playing. "Autoplay videos" is disabled, because I normally do not want to start any newly opened videos (I open like 10 or so at the same time). But this should not affect playlist, because I want the playlist to run of course. The little play button above the playlist is enabled.
Without the script, the autoplay works as expected. It's the HTML5 player. If I enable "Autoplay videos" it works.

Steps to reproduce: ...

Additional details: -

Mini-player persists after leaving video page

When I leave the video page and go back to the subscription feed (for example), the mini-player stays there, even if there's no video playing. This could be a feature, you could have a mini-player playing the video and browse YouTube, but at the time this is a bug.

Here is a screenshot:
miniplayer bug

EDIT: Actually, this only happened to me once, and I couldn't replicate it again... Also, might be another bug with SPF?

Have separate autoplay settings/toggles for playlists

Hi!

I want to have individual videos not autoplay, but for playlist videos to automatically start (different from the "playlist autoplay control" that load the page for the next video in the playlist. At the moment, this not possible since the autoplay setting applies to both. Is it possible to have separate setting for each type of video?

Thanks.

p.s. On the other hand, I love how easy it is to toggle the setting without having to go into the full settings menu - those small things really add up and make this an awesome addon. Keep it up!

Small suggestion regarding "Hide video details"

Right now, there's an option to either completely remove it or else have it open in the expanded state,
is it possible to have some collapsed state, so that it is not expanded by default, but the user still can if he wants to ?

Player half visible when reading comments

Hi ! Amazing script, but i've got an issue with this feature... The video gets on the sidebar well, but way too large (& high). Here's a screenshot. I'm on fullscreen, i've just croped the image to hide the top bar

Youtube+ seems to prevent the ability to enable closed captions

Browser Name: Firefox

Browser Version: 38.0.5 also occurs in the just updated version 39.0

Operating System: Windows 7 x64

Software Type: Firefox addon

Software Version: 0.3.1

Problem Description: With Youtube+/Particle enabled, the player controls will never display the closed caption (cc) button to enable subtitles/captions on videos that have them. Disabling only Youtube+ restores that button so it appears addon specific.

Steps to reproduce: View a video with closed captions enabled by uploader using Youtube's default HTML5 player.

Additional details: Example video tested on: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5vOC55m1Cw

Cinema mode

New Cinema mode is a a good idea, but I suggest it be not applied to paused playing and playing with scrolling down when we are usually reading or looking for something.

Hide watched videos

Could you implement a feature to hide watched videos?

I am currently using YTC + Subscription grid to achieve this. I would like to use your addon, but am missing this important feature.

Position of scrolling video

Would it be possible to add an option to reposition the scrolling video (so instead of it being locked mid-height, you can position it higher up or lower down) or better yet being able to freely customise the x and y position/size of the scrolling video?

Option to color rating bar & download ability ?

Coming from YouTubeCenter, this is a fine (& very resource friendly) extension.
Those 2 things I really miss :

  • an option to give your own colors to the rating bar & up-down thumbs.
  • A download button to save clips in a desired resolution.

Only a request, If not interested, close issue at will ๐Ÿ‘

Minor bugs

Just some incredibly minor bugs I've seen.
Minor bug 1:
With YouTube+ installed the guide menu button (or whatever it's called) ignores any regional identifiers.
So these screenshots are without YT+ installed:

These screenshots are with YT+ installed:

Minor bug 2:
If you have your mouse over the video player and you scroll down (using the mouse wheel or arrow keys), when the scrolling video player appears, the white buttons, which allow the user to move the scrolling video player, will already be showing even if the mouse isn't over the video player.

Feature Request: Quality control for embedded videos

Hi! I was just wondering, if it would be easy to implement, if you could include a separate quality control for embedded videos. Every embedded video is 360p by default and it would be handy to be able to select something higher from the get-go.

Thanks!

Please support Flash player.

Yeah, I know that YouTube+ works very good with HTML5 player, but some people, like me, because of hardware and/or OS, can't switch to HTML5 and watch videos, especially very smooth videos (60 FPS or less but more than 30 FPS), because that videos with this framerate aren't smooth (Chrome) or the image is re-buffering (audio is playing fine; Firefox).

Please, SUPPORT Flash player :)
I can send you some money if you will support that and/or wish this :)

Possible to add mouseover hover video thumbnails?

Sorry, don't know how to label the issue as an enhancement request.

I'm wondering if it's possible to add video thumbnail previews sorta like playing through the video as I hover over it so I get some idea of what's in the video. I think i've seen this feature before but i'm not sure if it makes things bloated.

Thanks!

[Grid Layout] Livestream thumbnails are unaligned

This has been bothering me for a while now.
A picture is easier to illustrate:
grid

I've tried changing the CSS a bit to get it more in-line with the video thumbnails but it doesn't quite look good, so I was thinking if you could try it yourself.

Static header option

just a pet peeve i have with headers taking up space on the screen when scrolling.
Thank you for creating this Script it seems to be more stable to YTC right now and is shaping up to be a good replacement to YTC.

Issues with live youtube stream

Browser Name: Firefox

Browser Version: 39.0

Operating System: Windows 7

Software Type: Brand new profile

Software Version: YouTube + 0.3.9

Userscript Manager: Greasemonkey

Userscript Version: 3.3

Problem Description: No chat and '</li> ' on 5254 watching

Steps to reproduce: New profile, install greasemonkey, install youtube + userscript, check 'Disable hovercards', log into youtube (you must be logged into youtube), visit any live stream.
This channel should have some live streams: https://www.youtube.com/user/dota2

[Firefox] Not updating automatically

Probably because the addon's author name is Yonez instead of Particle, so the addon doesn't recognize the account the addon is registered to at AMO?

Also, it's pretty difficult to find Youtube Plus just by searching it on Google or even AMO, which means it might not get enough visibility for what's worth. Maybe you could consider a name change or do something to promote the addon (if you want to, of course).

Thanks for your work!

Layout issue in grid subscriptions

Greetings. I found out about this addon today as I was looking for a replacement for YouTube Center (which has not been updated for 1 month now). And it seems to be doing great, definitely faster than YTC.
There are still some features I am missing, such as thumbnails with animations and like/dislike bar โ€“ I can make separate issues if needed โ€“, but otherwise, great addon.

But enough with the formal blah blah blah. Here's what my subscriptions page looks like:
mes_abonnements_-youtube-_2015-06-08_21 54 42

The video from Regular Ordinary Swedish Meal Time is offset by a few pixels because of the longer channel name.

Is there any way to fix that?

Remove bar below player?

Just switched over from YouTube Center as I was sick of it, well, not working.

Initial setup was fairly quick, but had to troubleshoot the player size issue; wouldn't actually save its size unless I unchecked the memory option.

Anyway, I don't see an option to be able to enable/disable the bar below the player. It can be minimized, but unfortunately the icon is white and clashes with my dark Youtube theme (https://userstyles.org/styles/62289/black-youtube-by-panos).

Could we get an option to remove this or even have a light/dark selection?

Hope to see more YTC features (static header, quality/ratings on thumbnails, and being able to change the video render mode was incredibly useful in the Flash player; no more direct mode anymore so there's a big pause on fullscreen toggle), but otherwise it's nice to actually be using something that works well again and doesn't cause a massive delay in page load and other issues.

Embed links not working

I am using the add-on version 0.3.0 with Firefox 39 beta 64 bit (with the new HTML5 youtube player version) and also tested on Firefox developer edition 40.0a2 (2015-06-29) 64 bit (with the old HTML5 youtube player version) and when I open a tab with a embed link like this:

https://www.youtube.com/embed/VIDEOCODE

The player does not load anything and when I disable your add-on and reload the tab, the video is working fine, I don't know if is one specific setting, I tried changing some but the video didn't work, it would be nice if there was a export/import settings too in cases like this. I tested with many videos not a single one worked, just copy any of the videos codes after the watch?v= and change the VIDEOCODE of the link above. Thank you.

Option to remove related videos at the end of videos

Hi!

I was wondering what your thoughts were on implementing an option to remove the related videos displayed at the end of a video, which is a feature I liked in Youtube Center.

Thanks.

p.s. Youtube Plus is an awesome addon! Keep up the great work!

"Fit to page max width: " setting only displays a greyed out '1280px'

Browser Name: Firefox
Browser Version: 39.0b1
Operating System: Windows 8.1
Software Type: Addon
Software Version: 0.0.6
Problem Description: The "Fit to page max width: " setting only displays a greyed out '1280px' despite entering different values. (Graphical bug)
Steps to reproduce: None
Additional details: This problem did not exist in version 0.0.1, it only started appearing in later versions.

Remember repeat option

I loved the extension is very light but at the moment I need to remember to click repeat each time I open a new video, also when I refresh the page the repeat is off, so I would like the option for the repeat to be on in all the videos by default.
