Jetpack DataStore is a data storage solution. It allows us to store key-value pairs (like SharedPreferences) or typed objects with protocol buffers. DataStore uses Kotlin and Coroutines + Flow to store data synchronously with consistency and transaction support 😍

Just for your info, this sample doesn't build anymore with

and run into

SettingsManager is always creating the datastore instance

The issue es related to the usage of the data store library.

** Details:
When closing and reopening the sample app, the settings saved with the data store are reset to defaults.

Steps:

  1. use the app
  2. close it
  3. reopen it
