Add way to select soundcard/channel to change
I integrated your script into hadess/CHIP-bluetooth-speaker#8 but changing the channel is a bit too hacky for my taste:
sed -i 's,numid=3,numid=1,' /usr/bin/volume-watcher.py
Would be great if there was a way to pass the soundcard and numid through either an option or an environment variable. This way, the configuration would be outside the script itself.
Play a sound on connection/disconnection?
Are you interested in having this:
hadess/CHIP-bluetooth-speaker#22
in your script?
If so, I can look at implementing it. I have this functionality in a UE-Roll Bluetooth speaker, and it's super useful when you don't have a screen to see if the connection worked, or when the phone/laptop disconnected.
Quiet amixer output
Though it's useful for debug, the amixer output is pretty verbose, 4 lines for each volume change. Using the -q
option would fix that.
