• git status: gets your current directory's GitHub stage
• git push [RECEIVING BRANCH] [SENDING BRANCH]: pushes changes to remote (online) GitHub repository
• git clone [REPO URL]: clones (copies) remote repository to local directory
• git co -b [BRANCH NAME]: changes branch in git (creates new branch if specified branch doesn't exist)
• git commit -m "comment": saves local file changes to remote repository with a comment on what was changed
• git add [FILE NAME]: stages files for commit
• cd [DIRECTORY NAME]: changes directory to specified directory
• rm -rf: removes folder/file and any files in it ("means remove recursively with force")
• touch [FILE NAME]: updates the access/modified date (creates file if it doesn't exist)
