Hi there,
I want to not save a password for some sites (e.g. homebanking). However Firefox asks me if I want.
If I answer Never, the next time the question comes up again. In the list of the pages in Firefox options where not to save passwords, nothing appears.

What to do?

I have a problem on some forums (I haven't paid attention to all of the sites but I know at least two of them are vbulletin boards and suspect the others are as well) where If I choose fill username and password and try and login, login fails because of bad username/password combo but if I choose fill password only or copy and paste my password from keepass login works and firefox requests if I want to update the stored password or not. If I choose yes I want to update the stored password and then logout and log back in the same problem occurs and I either have to get passifox to only do the password fill in (have tried with an without two-channel auto-type obfuscation) or copy paste my password.

I am using PassIFox 1.1.3, KeePass 2.15, KeePassHttp 1.0.3.8, Firefox 4.0.1 running on Windows Vista Ultimate 64 SP2.

New user w/ ChromeIPass 1.0.3
Issue 1: The balloon notification appears on the secondary monitor/ very inconvenient place. I have dual-monitor setup with secondary monitor to the right of primary ie: [2] [1], and Windows 7 Start Bar is placed VERTICALLY at left edge of monitor 1. All of ChromeIpass's balloon notifications appear at the lower right corner of the secondary monitor. Very undesirable and unexpected behavior. Notifcations should appear on primary monitor in system tray area.

Issue 2: Receiving credential notification: if the Title of the KP db is blank, this is blank also. When I imported all my bookmarks, all the titles are blank and I have filled in 'url' and 'notes'. I think logic in this extension should check - if the title is blank, display the url (or notes).

Issue 3: Does not work with some sites. For example, www.united.com (I know that United.com uses javascript code to keep certain browser password managers - like Firefox's - from offering to save passwords; but there's a workaround for that which I used. I don't know if this is the issue - that this extension is honoring website-coded requests to stop password management, but if this is the case, should have option to ignore these website settings) - Part of the reason I am here with this extension is the LASTPASS fiasco last week - and would mention that LastPass ignored these website-set attempts to disable password management.

Issue 4: The first time a login is used, the notification popup asking whether to allow - time on screen is too short. Actually, I'd rather not have this prompt at all and allow everything - wish there were such a setting.

Issue 5: will report more when have better details, but sometimes only offers a single login id/pass combo when there are db entries for multiple id's.

On some sites i had problems logging in.
So i investigated the problem and tried to reproduce it on a local webserver with a simple php script.

The problem i found is that if the password contains the "paragraph" character "§" (0xA7) KeePassHttp adds the character "Â" (0xC2) right before it.
So the password "abc§def" is inserted as "abc§def".

(In german it's called the paragraph sign but in english it seems to be the "section sign" see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Section_sign for details.)

Tried it with .plgx and with .dll and the error occurs in both versions
I'm from germany using de_DE locals.

Hi.

I have passifox 1.0.3, KeePass 2.14, KeePassHttp 1.0.9, Firefox 4 RC1 and problems.

First, I set up passifox and it works fine, no problems at all.

Then I set up Firefox sync to sync bookmarks and tabs (nothing else - not passwords). Set my sync key and everything goes well. Then I restart Firefox. I get plugin notification about weave credentials exchange and a second later Firefox message in bottom of screen:

"Sync encountered an error while connecting: Wrong Sync Key. Please try again."

If I enter my sync key again after that into Firefox it gets accepted and it seams to sync - until next firebox restart.

Pretty self-explanatory. I can't install this because it's not compatible with the newest version of firefox? Is there a simple fix to this?

Using e.g. Switchy! to manage proxies for the Chrome browser prevents the HTTP plug from connecting to KeePass.

PassIFox allows Firefox sync to function correctly when the KeePass database is unique, and used by only one installation of Firefox. As soon as the weave keys are synced to another KeePass database for use with another installation of Firefox, Firefox sync breaks. Bookmarks are then synced in a very sporadic fashion from that point on. As syncing KeePass databases is essential functionality, this behavior is broken.

To reproduce, get two installations of Firefox syncing with the same weave keys using two installations of KeePass+PassIFox and a synced database. Then add a bookmark to one of the computers and sync. Then sync using the second computer and note that the bookmark does not appear. Adding a third installation of Firefox with a different weave key to the equation seems to make syncing between the first two computers possible, though a bit screwy.

I believe that a mechanism to prevent weave keys from being shared between computers is necessary for correct functioning of Firefox sync (but I could be wrong, and any help would be appreciated).

Is this meant to be compatible with Firefox 4 beta? I'm running the most current, 4.0b9, and it's not working.
Error Returned: "PassIKey cannot be installed because Firefox cannot modify the needed file."

The Net Usage addon uses the password manager, but is now broken since it's been replaced.

In the normal password manager the URL shows up as net:usage:bar:0, I tried setting the URL field and even the title field to that, but it still refuses to work.

I have the configuration above (KeePass runs using mono) and it is not working.
I set this up and clicking the connect button causes KeePass to close. That's all.
Any ideas?

I installed ChromeIPass and I saw the icon when I first installed it. I have since rebooted. Now I do not see it , yet when I go to the ChromeIPass website it says it is installed.

If I go to about:plugins it is not listed there. KeePass has the Http plugin installed.

first, I'm not familiar with github so I'm unsure if the issues tracker is the right place to copy & paste my suggestions from the comments section on the chrome webstore for ChromeIPass / KeePassHttp.

Your comment on feature suggestion nr. 5 was:

I quit KeePass and Chrome, downloaded v1.0.3.1 (KeePassHttp), copied it to the KeePass folder, overwriting the old version. After restarting both and looking on the advanced field entries in KeePass for "KeePassHttp Settings" I didn't find any additional entries (apart for the AES key) to configure the timeout.

I'm reposting feature wishes 1-4 here as well. Eventually you can leave a comment on them if there is a chance that they'll be integrated?

1. If the Keepass database contains more than one entry for a website and we click on the icon in the address bar of Chrome we can see the different usernames that can be filled in. Can we have an option to display their corresponding title name instead, please?
2. Keepass has a recycle bin. Can you please exclude all entries that are stored there?
3. Are there any shortcuts available to insert username + password or only password (the two options for logins)? If not can you add them (it would be nice if the user can change them afterwards), please?
4. A small cosmetic thing: When Chromepass receives passwords from Keepass it'll show a small yellow balloon tip over the Keepass icon in the system tray. It will display all title names for all passcards there. Can you separate these entries a bit more (add a line break after each title name and a colon + linebreak in front of the first entry in the list)?. It would make this tooltip much more readable.

Can't get it to work in Firefox 4.0. Copied KeePassHttp.plgx to KeePass Directory, reloaded KeePass - nothing listed under "Plugins". Dunno what to do, would be sad for me to not use this brilliant plugin. Been waiting for Firefox integration for years.

Passifox does not seem to be using the URL field to identify websites. When I rename the title field to the same thing as the URL field, it works fine. Am I missing a setting? Thanks.

When I create an account in Keepass with ChromeIPass it run perfectly when this account it is in the top group, when I transfer this account in a other sub-group it don't run.

The main difference I have been able to find is that when it works, in the line containing "formSubmitURL", this field is not null as it is here, and the non-null entry appears in the next line as well. Is it just that the non-working sites are not following the proper protocol for a login page? Most of them are financial sites.

Howdy, I'm trying to get this working, and am quite excited to start using it. Unfortunately I get the following error one any site I try (for example https://accounts.craigslist.org)

ChromeIPass has been configured using the keyname Chrome KeyPass and has not yet connected to KeePassHttp

I'm currently running into the fact that PassIFox is incompatible with KeePass 2.16 and Firefox 7.0.1. Are there updates planned or has the author disappeared off of the face of the Earth?

I followed the instructions and installed successfully both the firefox add on (PassIFox 1.0.3) and the keypasshttp plugin.
Yet,

Installed and setup passifox and everything works as it should except with the addon enabled the firefox sync settings do not save (I can setup the sync and it still thinks that sync isn't setup (I notice that the sync credentials are saved in keepass under "weave"). Removing the passifox addon makes the firefox sync work as expected.

is there a way to enter two URLs for one entry?
E.g. for amazon. if you use amazon.co.uk and amazon.com you can use always the same login.
This would keep redundancy in the password database low.

I have just installed Keepass on a windows 7 and windows XP machines and I tried to follow your instructions at https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ompiailgknfdndiefoaoiligalphfdae to work with ChromeIPass. I follow all the steps but at step 4) where click on connect I get the following message:

ChromeIPass has been disconnected from KeePassHttp.
Association was unsuccessful
Press the reconnect button to establish a new connection.

After I click the connect or reconnect button I get the following message:

ChromeIPass has been disconnected from KeePassHttp.
Unknown error: 502
Press the reconnect button to establish a new connection.

Can you please advice me on what to do? Are there any logs I can read to help me or you understand what is happening?

I really don't get much in the way of error messages, it simply doesn't do anything. I don't get to the authentication step or anything else.

I have installed ArchLinux with keepass2.1.5 and used the glx directly (as well as the dlls), neither work.

BTW, as of 2.1.5 the glx works perfect, this was a keepass bug thats been rectified.

Hi i would like to ask if ChromeIPass works if KeePass is locked. So far it seems to me it's not.

My Keepass auto-locks when i click on the "X" and goes to the tray bar.

When this happens it seems to me that ChromeIpass stop working and retrieving passwords.

Is this the case or am i doing something wrong?

I have followed the instructions but still unable to get KeePassHttp to connect with the browser using both Windows 7 & Ubuntu 11.04. This is with using v1.19 of Keepass Version 2.15 works ok

I've noticed that the password retrieval doesn't work if, inside KeepPass, the url field contains the scheme element:

• Password with www.facebook.com were retrieved correctly on login page of facebook
• Password with http://www.facebook.com were NOT retrieved on login page of facebook
• Password with https://www.facebook.com were NOT retrieved on login page of facebook

This is mainly not a problem, unless you are using the URL field inside KeePass as bookmark to open a site, because without the scheme element, KeePass doesn't recognize correctly that this is an URL (mostly on sub-domains) and doesn't open it in web browser.

Hi there, this website www.hardforum.com, www.usbank.com doesnt work with the plugin. In fact, some websites work, and some dont. Any way to resolve this at all?

Do it is possibile to have a KeePass 1.x version?

I'm running Firefox 6.0.2 on Fedora 15. I install the plugin passifox vers 1.1.4 from the download link. I restart firefox and firefox stops working properly. Bookmarks go missing, the add-on page won't show up. The keepass icon never shows up, but the menu items "fill user + pass" and "fill pass only" do show.

I have to start fixefox using safe mode and disable the add-on to get firefox to work again.

I got the chromeipass to work but there are some website specific problems with it and I wanted to see how the firefox version worked.

Has no effect (IChromePass v1.0.2 and KeePassHttp v1.0.3.2. The balloon tip vanishes after max 10 seconds (and I defined 30 as the timeout).

I'm used to give keepass entries a title name that includes the username after the "-" to distinguish different entries for the same website with different user credentials. Atm IChromePass shows the title name and! the username at the same time. Can we have an option to display either (the title name of an entry) or (title name and username) or (only the username)?
Maybe two advanced fields:
Title name: true / false
User name: true / false

Where a combination of false & false would not be accepted ofc.

If that isn't too complicated it would allow us to display any of the three combinations :)

I have keepass on my computer and just installed ChromelPass and I am wondering if there is anyway I can import my database into ChromelPass?

Also, as I use ChromelPass on a day to day basis, I am sure my database will grow from what it currently is. Is there anyway I can export my database back into keepass on the computer, or even set up the sync option?

I've tried to make this extension compatible with Thunderbird 5, but I failed because my knowledge isn't sufficient.

Main problem was the missing WeaveCrypto.js. I've copied this file from Firefox and modified the code, but unfortunately it's not so simple. ;)

What do you think it is possible to connect Thunderbird with KeePass this way?

On my Windows 7 64bit machine, no password or username fields are filled in unless I open a tab for "localhost:19455". Also, I am getting an error popup window from KeePass after the chromeiPass plugin attempts to pull the fields. The message is below. Once I open the localhost:19455 tab, everything works perfectly.

Using the same database, plugin, extension, and Chrome version on my other computer has no issue.

From stepping through the plugin on the chrome dev tool, it looks like the script is stuck in an infinite loop unless I open the localhost tab first. Not sure why.

I'm using PassIFox on Firefox 5.0. For some reason any sub-domains (no matter how inputted) are simply not accessible in Firefox. Even entries with www.google.com for example will not be visible in the saved passwords list. Top level domains work fine.

ChromeIPass works perfectly on many sites across the board but I noticed it will not work on certain sites such as SCE.com and LADWP.com even though they are setup in keepass like other sites that require login with the domain names specified in the title and url in keepass entry.
Is this a bug or user error?

WebMail Notifier and PassIFox do not play nice together. For example, if I add in my [email protected] account with PassIFox disabled all is good. As soon as I enable PassIFox new entries in WebMail Notifier get made for [email protected], [email protected], [email protected] and so on all of which don't exist.

I believe this is probably related to the know issue of using multiple accounts on the one domain but it might also have some extra to it because it's an firefox extension.

I really miss using WebMail Notifier and would just like to know is it ever going to be possible to use it and PassIFox together.

This bug happened after I started using ChromeIPass on another machine. It is occuring on the machine I initially installed ChromeIPass on.
I use Dropbox to keep my kdbx files in sync between computers, and I have Chrome set to sync all settings between installations.

However, the PassIFox plugin seems to be working, as I can save username|password values to KeePass.

Hi there,
if I open up the password manager in Firefox, it does not show the password entries for websites, but some other entries out of my KeePass database. How do I hide them or restrict passifox to read the non website entries?

PassIFox does not seem to play nice with the Gmail Manager extension. When I open firefox I get the following message from keepasshttp in the form of a balloon in the system tray:

I also get a popup window to login to Gmail Manager, which I don't normally see when PassIFox is disabled. Also, when both Gmail Manager and PassIFox are enabled it puts the tabs below the orange Firefox menu button but if I disable either one of the extensions the tabs go back in line with the Firefox menu button.

Configuration: Windows 7 Home, Firefox 6.0.2 (also occurred with 6.0.1), KeePass 2.16 (also occurred with KeePass 2.15), KeePassHttp 1.0.3.8, PassIFox 1.1.4

Starting very recently (I think it was at the same time an extension updated) I getting an error any time I go to a page that has a password, and the passwords do not fill, neither automatically nor manually.

I suspect it has something to do with evernote or upromise since those are the only ones that request login info.

Hi there,
is there any way or a planned development to use the URL field for the recognition of the website? I have a lot of websites in which I have different logins (e.g. several google apps accounts). They now all show up as www.google.com in my database, which is really annoying if I want to look up the passwords manually.

An Option would be nice to switch it to the URL field in Keepass.

Hi, will Passifox work with portable Keepass, as so far I've been unable to make them work together. I've copied the plug-in to the Keepass folder and it's registered correctly, but when I visit a site requiring a password, I don't receive a pop-up.

One other question, I use fx nightly builds in addition to fx4, would there be any issues bumping the max version to work with the nightly builds?
