We seem to be missing a lot of microclimate (temperature SD) data in the SW USA.

Is this a bug that we can fix?

extract_VecTraits.R seems to assume that all mass units are in kg, but values in the output (output/mass_BioTrait.csv.gz) seem to be in a mix of g and kg.

For example, these shrimp look likes grams:

   5: Pandalus montagui 1.635000

and these species look like kg:

     3: Thalassiosira eccentrica 1.767146e-09
     4:     Ditylum brightwellii 6.544985e-08

We have mass for some but nowhere near all species
Would be great to prioritize species that are most abundant, but would need those data from Shane

@gauzens , do we need to keep this file? Is it code, output, or something else?

Some studies seem to have only 1 species in them

We need body size data (mass) associated with species names. One source are food web databases like those compiled by Webbuilder, Mangal.io, or the EcoNetLab.

Inputs:

• data/biotime_blowes/bt_grid_spp_list.Rdata: has species names and STUDY_ID
• data/biotime_blowes/bt.Rdata: links STUDY_ID to taxa_mod (the broad taxonomic category)
