sarcop's Introduction

SAR Common Operating Platform (SARCOP)

(Formerly known as SARandFirstResponderSurvey) This is a GitHub page for recording and resolving issues related to the Wide Area Search Templates for waypoints (points), tracklogs (lines), and assignments / incident areas (polygons). We have largley moved to MS Teams and MS Planner for logging enhancements, but GitHub can still be used to report issues (e.g., bugs and configuration errors).

Enhancement: Add Lifelines Info

Hi Paul,

Would it be possible to add some type of info page or link about Community Lifelines into Survey123? The idea is that there would be a quick way, within the app, to review details or examples about Lifelines so that the correct choice could be made in a survey.

We plan to do separate training about the Lifelines, but an in-app reference would be nice.

Cheers,
Mike

Web Form does not keep exact details of Survey when editing

Team - we are trying to make it as easy as possible to edit a specific web form using the Survey123 Web Form.

We want the end-user to be able to click on a link in Operations Dashboard or web map popup and quickly edit the Survey using the Survey123 Web Form.

Example:
image

Clicking this link unfurls the following URL https://survey123.arcgis.com/share/924c450187014beea32918d6d8a57662?mode=edit&objectId=278

This is AWESOME! Because I can simply update the Follow-Up to Assigned, and Assign it to someone. But notice one small, but very critical error. The Survey originally stated 3 people, but now it says 1 person (the default). It stays three if I open it in the Survey123 Field App, Web Map, or Web App.

Is there a short-term fix we can make?
Is this documented as a bug/enhancement for longer-term?

Optimal Scale of Map in Survey123 Field App

I am submitting this on behalf of Pete Hanna.

"Scale of the location map for one. Should be closer when you open it. Especially if you are doing damage assessment"

Question for the WG - what should the scale be when you open the Survey123 Field App?

Enhancement: Remove repeat and related table for Victim Details

The victim details/patient identification has not been widely used by agencies and also produces a potential roadblock to sharing the data since it is more likely to contain PII.

It is also producing a technical challenge with producing multiple forms for one feature layer.

For R&D, I'd like us to test if we can eliminate this repeat / related table without breaking an existing Survey. This would make it easier to transition users between V6 and V7.

Expand domains (or provide guidance) on filling out the Event Details section from a webform

Scenario: Someone is entering surveys via the webform from victim call-ins or from third-party notifications. They are not actually out on a search with a team.

Problem: the Squad Leader and Search Type fields do not necessarily pertain to this situation but are required fields to submit a survey.

Possible solution: When someone at the ICP (or a dispatch center) is completing a survey via the webform, the Squad Leader and Search Type fields are not very relevant. For Squad Leader we may need to advise to enter "ICP" or "Completed Via Webform". For Search Type, maybe we need to add "Completed Via Webform" as a domain choice.

Add hidden field for Resource Request Tracking Number field

Resource Tracking Number, text field.

Request from South Carolina so that they can assign a Resource Request Tracking Number.

Use in editor app using batch attribute editor to assign request resource tracking number to all points within an area.

Filter Survey questions based on Search Type?

This was an idea by Chief Olsen from MO-TF1. "How can we simplify the form when the search type is Recon, Hasty, Primary vs Secondary, Targeted?"

I am not sure if this is feasible for v7 due to known issues with the cascading select.

"SOS Button"

Joe Thompson from Lafayette, LA
[email protected]

There should be a way to add a point to indicate a first responder is injured / need for immediate assistance. We may not know exactly how to do it, but it should be a high priority.

Could be an additional choice for domains under follow-up priority?

Enhancement: Add Field MGRS

Can we look at having a new field that collects the MGRS coordinates when a location is selected? Much like the USNG field, we have a need to get the MGRS coordinate. Our state, as well as several others, utilize a helicopter aquatic rescue team that is comprised of military and civilian assets. Our HART pilots rely on MGRS coordinates to coordinate their missions.

Survey123 Offline Workflow Guidance

If anyone has done extensive testing, especially with vector tile packages for using offline basemaps with Survey123, we are looking for your feedback and guidance.

  • What is the best combination of zoom level and extent for mission support?
  • What is the easiest way to produce Vector Tile Packages?
  • How do you deal with having just one author to a Survey? A "headless" account or are you deploying multiple surveys from one feature layer?

In the meantime, we are recommending the Explorer for ArcGIS Offline or Collector for ArcGIS workflow using "Map Areas" for web maps.

Flood depth changed from inches to Feet.

After discussions with firefighters at the Jan 28th South Carolina Exercise, and discussions with Adam Barker (a FEMA flood modeling expert), we made the decision to change the values for the flood depth from inches to feet. The precision is not needed for modeling and it would be easier for people to estimate feet as opposed to inches.

Added field to identify if a waypoint has a photo or not

With the help of Ismael, I added a hidden field to the survey called "attachment_question" with the field calculation of if(string-length(${image0})>0,”has photo”,”no photo”) . If a point has a photo, the field will be filled with "has photo" and if it doesn't have one, the field will have "no phot". Below is what this looks like in the table in ArcGIS Pro.

Enhancement: Add a "Follow-up Status" field

See video explanation here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sN3JiJNir7Y&feature=youtu.be&hd=1

We need SAR Working Group feedback on this, but it needs to be implemented in early 2020.

The idea is we want to be able to filter by waypoints that require action. A field "Follow Up Status" or something similar could be created and only shows up when certain waypoints are selected by default or a user overrides it.

This might require a follow-up form is created, or additional questions added to the survey.
See the follow-up survey enhancement, this might be the way to close-out follow-up. #31

This is critical to life-saving.

Field: Follow-Up Status
Domains: Needs Follow-up (Red), Assigned (Yellow), Completed (Green) No Follow-up Needed (White)

Field: Follow-Up Type
Text: A space for adding details on action needed.

Potential Additional Fields
Field: Follow-up Details
Text: who it has been assigned to, and/or an ability to link to other systems via web hooks (Workforce for ArcGIS, Slack, Trello, WebEOC, etc).

Field: Follow-Up Priority
Text: High, Medium, Low -- This could potentially be automated based on number of people and type of follow-up needed.

Basemap issues with 3.7.56 - Standard (Beta) Map

Settings: Basemap set to Community Topographic (Map service based?).

This is on our current prototype tv7a SAR Survey (and others) published with Survey123 Connect 3.7.6.

Android Pixel Version 10, Survey123 3.7.56 - there appears to be transparency or missing layer in the World Topographic. The building footprints and roads show up, but not the other features.

@tedrick @IsmaelInRedlands have you seen any issues like this?

Also... is there a way to load the vector tile basemaps vs. map service-based one?

Survey123 Bug: Weak wifi connection forcing a login

Today during training they were testing going offline / airplane mode and then connecting to their mobile wifi kit.
Over a weak wifi connection, they were getting forced to log-in. If they did not find a stronger wi-fi connection the app just froze and would not go to the log-in page. Once they move closer to the wi-fi source, they could sign-in, but the problem is why were they getting logged out in the first place.

*Similar problem with QuickCapture logging and / or the Send button being disabled. The resolution for QC was to kill the app, then log back in with a better connection. I posted on the Early Adopter Forum, see "Working Offline - Then Connecting to Wifi - Data won't send"

@IsmaelInRedlands I know these may not be bugs and just known limitations but I am adding you for awareness. Let me know if you need more information.

Create Change Log for Survey

We can create a changelog via Integromat of Microsoft Flow to record a row in a spreadsheet every time a survey is submitted or edited via Survey123. I have set up a basic version of this and will continue to test.

Enhancement: Pass full attachment image URL via webhook & include in Zapier posts to Slack

I looked into whether it was possible for me to add image attachments to the Slack posts for those submissions that include attachments. At the moment, I don't think I've got the data needed to do so, but wanted to see if Paul/Jared could look on the Survey123 side and see if there might be a way to tell it to send attachment info in more detail.

At the moment, the attachment/image info doesn't come through anywhere except in the big 'applyEdits' field that contains all the data; within that there's a section that looks similar to:

attachments: {u'adds': [{u'parentGlobalId': u'{266aea7e-4bb7-46db-8556-2e51f3394bfb}', u'globalId': u'{6bfbafbb-9dc5-460a-813f-ed2e65913932}', u'uploadId': u'c343d1524c9040f1adf24cb1d04001c3', u'keywords': u'iaImage', u'name': u'image0.jpeg'}]}

...there may be a way to combine the various filenames/variables in there to form an image URL, but it's not immediately obvious to me how to do that.

So: if y'all could take a look and see if there might be anything that looks tweak-able on the Survey123 side to provide more data on the attachment images, let me know if any options present themselves there...

Change Image Size to Unrestricted

The current Survey should have an unrestricted limit for the image size when taking a photo. I am opening up some of the photos on the training Survey and the photos appear to be fairly small.

Enhancement Request: Follow-up question for Waypoint = Rescue

Kevin –

Because there are issues changing the schema on the production survey, the short answer is “no” but I can add as an enhancement request for future versions.

The good news is, the Human Interactions Comments field could be used for this purpose for now and with some creative filtering (contains “ “) I think we could get by for this incident.

Does that sound like a good plan?

The only alternative is to use the optional icons 21-24 but we try to reserve those for objective specific items (e.g. pig farms, abandoned vehicles, etc).

Enhancement: Deploy symbology across all feature layer views?

Is there any potential for Esri to build a tool for pushing symbology across all feature layer views systematically?

The issue we have is the symbology not showing in the stakeholder view, which means it does not show up on the back-end of Survey123 Data Tab, which also means when people download the KML (this is still relevant for SAR), the data does not have any symbology.

It takes about 10-15 minutes each time for us to change the symbology because there +24 icons. For novice users, it would take much longer.

Enhancement: Hazard, Route Blocked, Extras, should trigger PDA/PA Questions and Lifelines

Use case: If a SAR Teams wants simultaneously mark a hazard, but also document potential inputs to Public Assistance declaration, they will need the follow-up questions for PA to open up.

If they come across a route blocked, this may also be a damage type that qualifies for PA.
If they come across downed power lines and this is being indicated by Extra 21, this may qualify for PA.

I think this topic warrants more discussion but we might need to tweak the data model.

We will discuss this with the SCERTF and Greenville stakeholders.

Workflow issues for Submitting survey via webform in Dashboard

After you submit a survey via the webform in the dashboard, you can't submit another survey without refreshing. Look into adding a link to submit another survey (although I think this is only available via publishing the survey via the web).
image

Another solution would be to embed a link to the survey in the dashboard which would open the survey form in another tab.

Enhancement: Required Fields for Team Name, Your Name, and Search Type

All set, thank you. As far as the filling in of the task force names. Can we make the following a “Required Field”:
• Team Name
• Your Name
• Search Type

This along with the already required field of waypoint will give good filter options. Your thoughts sir?

Create a Follow-up Form

Follow Up Form v7.xlsx
After we create a follow-up needed field, we need to have a follow-up form capability.

Should this be a separate form or just a capability within the existing form?
