Some possible approaches

- subtler semantics such as newlines preceding the node, single newlines rather than blank lines, etc
At the moment we should probably just make some arbitrary choices, be sure to allow the user to override the defaults with an attribute, and wait to see the patterns in the things we end up overriding most often.
