It's best to leave this until the last possible moment of the remaster. It is quite annoying to develop it with this, due to it using the cached responsed thanks to the service worker.
Similar to the 2022 instance, the "time travel"/timeline feature may be implemented. The plan is to have it in 30-minute intervals, similar to the 2022 instance.
Here's a part where I need help. If anyone has the 2017 data and willing to generate the images, I would appreciate it.
Currently all links to r/placeAtlas are still links to r/placeAtlas, but this should be considered further whether to choose r/placeAtlas or r/placeAtlas2 as the designated sub for this atlas instance. Keep in mind that the subreddit will be used for submissions, as well as general inquiry.
Some things to consider:
r/placeAtlas is relatively dead, otherwise r/placeAtlas2 is also dead, but slightly active because of ARP.
r/placeAtlas2 is controlled by us, whereas r/placeAtlas is controlled only by Roland Rytz.
Using r/placeAtlas would be easier to handle due to the submissions are contained in one repo, compared to using r/placeAtlas2, which needs to handle two instances at the same time.
A case where an hypothetical future r/place event took place should also be considered, for futureproofing (what would be the subreddit name)?
An "instance" is basically a copy of the Atlas with similar codebase. atlas-2017 is an instance, atlas is an instance, atlas-20xx is also an instance.
