This is a ROM patch for the Sega Genesis game Dungeons & Dragons: Warriors of the Eternal Sun. The goals of this project are as follows:

1. Fix blatent bugs in the game logic
2. Bring the game logic more in line with actual D&D rules
3. Mitigate exploits and "cheesey" tactics that undermine the game mechanics
4. Improve game balance, particularly among the different player classes

This repository does not and cannot distribute the ROM image of the game Dungeons & Dragons: Warriors of the Eternal Sun, for obvious legal reasons. What is distributed here is a .bps patch file that contains the information necessary to transform a "clean" ROM image into the patched version.

There are a number of utilities available for patching ROM images with .bps files. A popular utility is FLIPS, and it can be found readily with a Google search. For convenience a link to download the software is provided here: https://www.romhacking.net/utilities/1040/

A "clean" copy of the ROM image of Dungeons & Dragons: Warriors of the Eternal Sun is required. For reference, the ROM image I used to develop the patch carries the filename Dungeons & Dragons - Warriors of the Eternal Sun (USA, Europe).md. SHA-1 fingerprint: 9135F7FDA03EF7DA92DFADE9C0DF75808214F693.

After downloading and extracting the patch and the utility, run the utility, select the patch file, select the ROM file to apply the patch to, and choose a name for the output file (patched ROM). After patching, you can load and execute the ROM image in an emulator of your choice. For reference, this patch was developed using MAME.
