Now you cannot use the board without connecting it through the Arduino (which helps, cause there is a fuse). But if you want to test to see if it works it would be nice to be able to supply 5 volts somewhere.

Originally designed the DB board with the TLC59208 I2C LED driver.
A drop-in replacement can be the PCA9551
but requires other firmware. and it can only output a maximum of 25mA

Another option can be the TLC59108 LCSC has a couple of 100 available and can do 120mA per LED

I found the Resistor Value for IR LED is different between the 2.1 release and latest commit.
Would you mind to create a new release like 2.1.1 if the values change is crucial ?

Also, which values should be followed when creating the PCB ?

LED3 (indicator for 2.5v reference) is breaking the reference voltage because it is drawing too much current

For completeness, I think it might be nice to have both front and back PCB renders. To be used in docs, mainly.

Pin D0 is currently used for the reset of the LED driver, but the same pin is used by UART and randomly resets the LED driver during serial communication.
Current workaround: desolder r24 and connect a wire from pin D2 to the led drive side of r24 pad.

We did not test it much, but we think it can be a benefit to add the color sensor on the board. The KiCAD files are online, they just need the footprint of the AS7341 component, the required caps/resistors, and routing for the I2C lines.

in the past changed from ads1255 to ads1256 for availability reasons, but now also ads1256 is not available anymore.
a possible replacement is the NAU7802, as Markus & Gustav used in the handheld version
