First I want to compliment you on the Just the Docs theme. It is awesomeπŸ₯‡

I have two questions for you.

First a quick context for you. We have a new product that is promoting Manual Tests as Code. It is called Testspace. It is built on GitHub Repos, issues, etc. It uses markdown files as test specs, also supports a subset of Liquid. It is brand new (meaning very limited users).

Anyway, it works perfectly with your theme. I have some help documentation on it - https://help.testspace.com/docs/manual/implementation-spec#spec-preview. Note, that I am still working on improving the steps based on your documentation/examples.

Now for my questions:

  • When using the source: setting in _config.yml the _include directly processed by Jekyll for pages is not using the relative path. It works locally, but not when generating a page. Getting the File is a symlink issue.
  • This question is really for GitHub, but I would like to get your thoughts (and you said "AMA" πŸ˜„). I want to promote test spec documentation for projects using GitHub pages, and specifically the Just the Docs theme. IMHO all works perfectly and really promotes good "test documentation". But for a private repo, the site is public, even for team accounts. I guess you have to have an Enterprise Account.

Sorry for the long and probably confusing question.

@pmarsceill,

Hi, I am trying out your really nice jekyll skin just-the-docs for my stats course in the fall and for some reason the relative directory structure is appearing above the H1 header in small font at the top of the page (just below the search box). I can't figure out how to get rid of this and don't see any obvious tags in the YAML config file to toggle this display. It's not appearing on your github.io site for the theme, could you please help me?

thank you,

@pmarsceill,
Hi there!

My GitHub org is using the Just the Docs theme (thanks for sharing!; see https://cadatpitt.github.io/documentation/), and I'm wondering how we might go about customizing the font-stack and using our site navigation menu? I made a quick effort to use the style sheets and HTML we use for our GitHub pages, but it didn't quite work (e.g., list item bullet points showing for nav-items). Please advise.

Thanks in advance!

Stay safe and sane,
Tyrica

@pmarsceill,
Hi, my name is Michael, I am writing because I really don't know who else to turn to anymore, I don't know what to do really. I have been a person who has always done things out of love and wanted nothing but the best out of love. At least I thought I did I want to help people but I don't know what to do anymore. I don't even know what to ask but I am homeless now, living on the street and I was doing my best to try to do something great by working with computers. I am scared and I don't want to die. I just don't know what to do anymore

What was your experience?

I just wanted to thank you for creating and maintaining the Just the Docs theme. I'm a college instructor and have used it for all my course. It has worked out so very well. My notes are now so very readable, accessible, navigable, searchable, and maintainable. Hurray!

Thank you kindly for your hard work on this project! πŸ™
