What is this?

Poggit is a website for two things: a plugin builder (Poggit-CI) and a plugin list (Poggit-Release).

Why not Laravel?

I wanted to use this project as a way to experiment how bad it is if no frameworks are used. I am not planning to change this, as this is a living evidence telling us why PHP (especially without server frameworks) is bad.

Features

Poggit-CI: plugin builder

Poggit will build phars for your project when you push a commit or make a pull request.

Login on the Poggit website and authorize the Poggit application for your user account or your organizations. You can find buttons to enable Poggit-CI for particular repos at the CI admin panel. Poggit will help you create the file .poggit.yml in your repo, and then Poggit will start building your projects in your repo every commit.

Poggit-Release: plugin list

A project can be released after it has a development build. You can find the release button in the CI project page.

You can find a list of released plugins at https://poggit.pmmp.io/plugins. You can also find plugins pending review at https://poggit.pmmp.io/review.

Virions

Poggit provides a library framework called "Virions".

Planned features

Can I host it myself?

Yes, technically you can, although discouraged.

Poggit manages a website that allows users to find plugins. Therefore, if everyone creates their own Poggit website, it will be confusing for users as plugin lists are scattered everywhere. For the sake of the community, unless you have improved your version of Poggit so much that the original version is no longer worth existing, please don't host a public Poggit yourself.

However, for various reasons, mainly that I am a stubborn Free Software supporter, you can still host a Poggit instance yourself. This project is licensed under the Apache license, Version 2.0. You can obtain a full copy of this license at the LICENSE file.

Nevertheless, Poggit is open-sourced for developers, not businesses. It is here for developers to improve it, or to learn from it, "to build software better, together". You are welcome if you want to host Poggit yourself for security reasons, or for testing. But if you are hosting Poggit for profit reasons, I politely ask you not to do that.

Then, refer to INSTALL.md for instructions to install Poggit.

Add plugin

So I tried to add one of my repo's to Poggit. But I can't find where to enable the plugin. If I click on the "Admin" button it says I need to add a plugin first, leading me to the homepage where I can't find the option to add a plugin.

Is it possible to create a direct download link with Poggit with which you can always download the latest dev build without having to update the link always?

Question regarding releasing a forked plugins

Do not submit plugins written by other people, unless you have obtained prior explicit permission from them. If you want an updated plugin to be listed on Poggit, request it at the Poggit Orphanage Office.

They arent seems to be more then that regarding releasing a forked version of another plugin
So here's the questions:

  1. Is there any guidelines for releasing a forked plugin without author's permission? since it's a open source community anyways, if someone want to revieve dead projects shouldnt they be able to do so?
  2. How many amount of change would make the plugin no-longer considered as plagiarism thus should be considered to allowed to be released
  3. Is there any guidelines for if one individual wished to release a forked plugin should consider before releasing
  4. Currently we fork the plugins who been requested to be released to poggit using poggit orphanage, but what if it's a edited and will be maintained by a fork maintainer should they be allowed to release it under their own name?
  5. Why does poggit choose to restrict the release of forked version of plugins, under an open source environment, i understand there concerns about people who would just rename the plugin and forget about it, but there also people who are happy to add brand new features to a un-maintained plugin
  6. If I manage a forked version of PureChat see here and wish to release it due to it bringing more flexibility what actions should i take before releasing it?

Most of these questions are raised over the fork of purechat i made, and also to at the very least allow and come up some sort of guideline for forked/edited plugins

Hi all, having a issue with getting plugins to work with DevTools, I have edited some plugins so that they will work with ALPHA-7, this didn't used to be an issue and now is.

'Release' section for virions

Currently, virions are not the easiest to browse. You can find them through CI, but without knowing the name of one, it's hard to find out whether there is a virion that serves your needs. Perhaps it is a useful idea to add some kind of release/browse section dedicated to virions only.

I understand this is a lot of work for (seemingly) not too important features, but it really would be a useful feature. No rush either way. It'd be cool if you'd implement this in Poggit.

Plugin scripts

Will Poggit support single script plugins? I mean whole plugins within one php file without all the directories and the plugin.yml

Pocketmine Won't Update

My pocketmine server is running MCPE version 0.15.0.0. Current minecraft is running MC 1.15.0
is there any way to update this?

Multiple Versions of the same plugin in review phase

I couldn't help but notice that on this screen are two plugins with two postings with different version numbers on each. Are the plugins supposed to do that, or should they replace the previous versions?

Both PlayerInfo and StaffChat have two posts in the review page.

Does poggit currently have a way to search plugins by category, or will it be added in the future?
