Maggie Summers Portfolio - Ruby on Rails - Week 2

By Maggie Summers

Description

A portfolio website. View the site here: https://bit.ly/2I5tBah .

Specifications

  • Landing Page: The landing page serves as a quick snapshot of who I am and what I do.

  • About Page: The about page talks about who I am, where I come from, and what my passions and interests are. These passions & interests are communicated via an embedded Spotify playlist and a list of what I'm currently reading.

  • Work Section: The work section of my portfolio site covers interesting coding projects I've contributed to, and interesting and relevant social media work I've done in the past. This section includes a few key case studies of past work, as well as a breakdown of my strengths. Break this out into rows and columns (see scratch piece of paper for brainstorming notes.) My strategy regarding incorporating my strengths is to have one page dedicated to work overview, work samples/case studies, skills and interests. Each of those categories, save work overview, will be housed in a database where I can add, update and delete entries as needed.

    • Strengths:
      • 5 years of working in client-facing roles in an agency setting has made me adept at multitasking, working under pressure, and hitting deadlines effectively and efficiently.
      • Years of teaching classes and seminars about social media and social media advertising have taught me to explain complicated topics in simple terms, and have given me the confidence to present to small and large groups of people.
      • My background in social media and client-agency work have prepared me to be an excellent and efficient communicator. I am experienced at managing expectations and being readily available whenever a client needs me.
  • Blog Section: The blog section of my portfolio is where my thoughts and musings are communicated with those perusing my website. Topics range from coding to social media.

  • Contact Page: The contact page lets users know how to contact me via email and where to follow me on social media.
