The button overlaps the comment form in Epoch. Lame.

If the user is using Postmatic and signs in with Twitter we should ask them for an email address for followup comments. Could be difficult.

We should move the toggle button to the bottom and only enable it when all api form fields are filled out. Or maybe we even get fancy and build in a step to test before enabling.

If you start a comment, and click on social login, comment disappears and you have to re-type everything.

The permissions on the wordpress.com request are overly aggressive. All we need are:

• display_name
• email
• profile_URL

Authentication with Twitter works fine, but when submitting a comment I get an error that name and email are missing:

Unfortunately, the plugin is currently incompatible with nginx' fastcgi_cache. When the plugin is enabled, the cache is never hit (most likely due to the session cookie set in every response header, even when a page does not contain a comment form).

Observed on http://amazingy.com/magazine. Haven't reproduced locally yet.

I’m not sure if this is because of how I have my google app configured or not. It could be my fault. Try it and see what you get. The result is that when authenticated with Google, WordPress still asks for name/email/url and does not show any indication that the authentication has occurred.

Posting using a traditional (logged out) name/email throws this error: Fatal error: Call to a member function get_settings() on a non-object in /wp-content/plugins/comments-with-social-login1/functions/Ixwp_Social_Comments_Plugin.php on line 254

Would be a nice touch.

Again, we are asking for too much info from Twitter. We just need a username and link to their twitter profile....

Weird interaction of three plugins (Epoch, Postmatic Social Commenting, & Postmatic) that seem to go haywire (translation wise that is).

Epoch, the social commenting plugin of Postmatic and Postmatic itself, all seem to throw in some other translation in the form field, below a post. That messes up the CSS a little. I have found that enabling Postmatic only, seems to solve this to some extent.

If you can have Dylan take a look, would be much appreciated. I don't want to open that can of worms myself.

Also of note, when I then visit my Twitter account to look at my list of authorized applications the test app is not one of them. As if the auth never actually finished.

No matter what I try, Facebook refuses to submit. I get an alert I need to fill out a name/email.

Having a problem with email values going astray when this plugin is used without Postmatic and a comment is left without connecting/linking to a social network. The problem doesn't occur with Postmatic is enabled.

Steps to reproduce:

• This plugin is installed with twitter login enabled (not tested with other networks)
• The wordpress discussion setting 'Users must be registered and logged in to comment' is unchecked
• A comment is added without using social login (i.e. just by filling out the name/email/website/comment fields)
• the email field clears when submit is clicked
• the value in the email field is not stored with the comment, and if the 'Comment author must fill out name and e-mail' discussion setting is checked then an error message is received

Can anyone confirm?

Sites running wp super cache may be having trouble....

Could be related to #1 .

I tried commenting on your post where you announce the epoch social commenting plugin via Facebook.
I successfully logged in via facebook but every time I tried to comment I was told: Your comment was not accepted, please check that everything is filled out correctly.

So I gave up and scrolled back up where I was then greeted by your pop-over saying thanks for my comment?

So what happened here?

On certain server configurations all comments will be sent to moderation. I can't figure out why. It seems to have started on 4.4. Can reproduce on my server on site5.
