first of all a realy nice looking app.
I have a rooted Nexus 5 with cyanogen-Mod-version: 13.0-20161108-NIGHTLY-hammerhead
Android-version: 6.0.1

My problem is when I click on a video the text shows up: "no compatible source was found for this media."

Have I a to old android version or must I install something extra ?

Another question could you also programming a app for https://dsound.audio ?

Add a handler to open the right d.tube links with the app (mostly profile and video links as these are the ones linked the most)

Found an interesting thing in the latest version. After logging in with my Steam Key, all seemed great for a few days. Then all of a sudden, no content was showing up. Nothing on subscribed feeds, Hot, new, etc. I thought that maybe the d.Tube network was down or something. Returned back to it the next day, and same. After 3 days I decided to go into Android settings and "Clear data". After I did this, I re-opened the app and there's the content again. But of course I am not logged as me. So I re-entered my Steem key, and after about 48 hours, the same thing happened again. And when I cleared data, it all came back.

It seems that there is something wrong with the local storage in the current version, or at least something is failing. I have found that this happens almost daily now, but when I clear data, it works again.

Is there any more information I can give you that would help debug this? One thing that would be awesome would be a way to clear the data but retain the Steem key/login ID since that takes forever to manually enter. I'm not sure if there is some problem with the IDs of the "next" item to look at becoming corrupted or something, but I'd be fine with resetting the list - just not having to lose the login credentials each time to do that.

Anyway thought I'd bring it to your attention. Hope you are doing great.

The application (latest release as of 1/24/18) does work now, and does show content. But the design & testing appears to have only been done on a phone. Android devices include tablets and Android TV (the latter being the most relevant to DTube). In the case of larger screen devices, the content doesn't provide a thumbnail on the device that doesn't take up the entire screen width. The application needs to be able to recognize the device that its being run on, and resize its screen and support input devices, appropriate to that device. It is basically useless on an Android TV because of the design (see photo of it on my NVidia Shield TV):

Additionally, the control device on an Android TV isn't supported correctly. The user should be able to use any remote control that advances between the buttons on the page, to select content and play it. The remote control on an Android TV is not recognized at all. The only button that works is to go "back" which just quits the application.

I don't know for which reason it isn't working but I don't see any videos and i can't login. However the app has a nice design. I hope you can fix this and I am available for beta version for testing. Here are some informations that may help you:
I am from Germany and may smartphone is a Motorola Moto X Play (Lux) running LineageOS 14.1-20171228-Nightly-Lux (Android 7.1.2) with safety updates till December 2017 and MagiskSU for Root.

I have installed version 1.1 of this app and tried to sacan the QR-Code but there showde only a white screen.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 with Android 7.0

Loving the app, btw. I use it daily. One thing though that has become problematic is the Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down buttons on shows. I have accidentally hit the Thumbs Down button with my remote, which has not been fair on hosts. But it also has come back to bite me with negative Steem impact. It would be really good if there was some sort of confirmation that was needed for a Thumbs Down click on a show, or a way to remove that click. I found that if I click on it a 2nd time (thinking that it would reverse the vote), it just added a 2nd thumbs down.

Is there anyway you can make this harder to click so that if I really want to downvote a post, I have to at least confirm to do it?

Thumbnails currently fill half the height of my screen. This makes it rather unpleasant to scroll through videos.

Device: Android 6.0.1, No Google Services

What I did:

• Installed app from apk
• opened app
• Menu > Login
• Filled in
  • username
  • private posting key
• enabled app upvote
• enabled following
• pressed login

What happens - Problem:

• Page refreshes (checkboxes turn white and the red again)
• input fields remain filled out
• nothing else

I was thinking on background playback, so I would not drain my battery while listening to podcast or music, or be able to switch to different app while still listening to it. But that might be hard to correctly implement.

So maybe you could implement "Open with external app" feature so I can open open the .mp4 url with MX Player and play in background (and/or with full gpu acceleration).

(For example YouTube red (or in countries without red you can crack it) allows background playback, or cda.pl app have a toggle under video "open with mx player", but better would be a button on video or under)
