📐Guides: Sketch plugin

Quickly generate Guides for a selected element. It is tedious to create guides for a layer using sketch's default layout setting, so this is my attempt to ease that effort.

Install

PS-Guides supports Sketch 3.8+ ([why?] Because I haven't tested in older versions! 😛)

Download the ZIP ⬇️
Unzip, open the folder and double click PS Guides.sketchplugin
🤘Done, you are good to go! Just press [cmd + shift + \]

Change the keyboard shortcuts

If you’re not a fan of the keyboard shortcuts 📐-Guides ships with, you can change them in System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts. Add a new item for Sketch.app named either Setup Guides or Clear Guides and create a new one.

Notes

Material and/or Bootstrap column layout is the most widely used standard for designs.
This came to me because I felt that there isn't a clean solution available to do grids for layers (and I had no plans on a Weekend).

Not supported in Sketch 60?

I'm missing the feature to create guides for a selected layer! This would be amazing addition to my workflow, but seems to be it is not supported anymore?

Stopped working in Sketch 63

This plugin seems to not work anymore in Sketch 63. Is it possible to look in to? I use it almost every day. 🙏

Support Sketch 45 plugin update system

Hi there!

This is a quick note to remind you that Sketch 45 will include a plugin update system.

It would be awesome if you could add support to it (it's really easy!) before Sketch 45 comes out. Ideally, you should release an update for your plugin while we're still in Sketch 44, so your users will have a nice & easy experience when 45 is released.

horizontal guides

why it don't have horizontal guides???

Add guides removes vertical rulers

I fixed it by commenting out
removeVerticalGuides();

In the plotGuides function. in functions.js

I'd recommend you do this until you add row guides functionality.

No longer seems to work

Love the idea of this plugin but it no longer seems to do anything (currently Sketch 72)
