I think the extension should be a separate repo, something like minecraft-classic-protocol-extension, which will be an optional plugin to minecraft-classic-protocol. so we keep a vanilla classic repo (like we are doing for forge with nmp)

I don't quite understand yet what's the size sent to us.
is it the size of the compressed chunk or uncompressed ?
Once we get this project off the ground, I think it would be a good idea to figure out a way to make a module that runs both node-minecraft-protocol and minecraft-classic-protocol.
