help

can you help us to integrate your mkv player in indinaime.com (wordpress) + support videos from links

Request: Server-side thumbnails

The solution is exactly what I was looking for for browsing through daily time lapse videos. Thank you!

Would it be possible to add an option to support and give preference to server-side thumbnails rather than generating and storing them on the client? I'd rather generate the thumbnails programmatically at night on the server than to rely on the storage and compute power of the client.

Would it be possible to exclude directories from the navigation (e.g. '/' or '/css')?

Response to progress-bar click is slow

Environment: windows 10, with i7 CPU; Chrome and MS Edge;

Action: click on the progress bar (time line of the video), forward (and backward) of the current time.
Expected behavior: video will start play at the time point clicked in real-time without obvious waiting.
actual behavior: video starts to play in 2~4 seconds on my computer, varying from time to time. The wait time is not obviously changed after changing the settings on Animate Thumbnails; Generating Thumbnails.

When turning off the additional features, it should be fast to start playing the video at any point of time when it is downloaded. Where is a good place to make improvement?. Is it straight forward to make changes. Thank you

Cannot click on subfolders in Firefox 96.0.2(Windows), Safari 15.2(macOS)

Hello!

Tried to use this project and found a bug, when I click subfolder in Firefox or Safari it shows error in js console and click doesn't work:

Uncaught TypeError: e.path is undefined
getTargetEl http://xxx/player.html:2603
clickLink http://xxx/player.html:2610

my folder structure:
video folder/ --> some videos in it
some videos
player.html

It doesn't happen on Chrome-like browser.
Anyone knows if that can be easily fixed?
It would be nice to support Firefox, just curious if it's posibble, not a must have, thanks!

A minor issue on play/pause button

Thanks for the sharing. I like the idea that all in one file. Just noticed an issue. In the general convention, a triangle shaped button is displayed when the video is paused. But this player is opposite. Texted on Chrome and MS Edge.

Hi Paul, problem autoplay using iframe tag

Hi Paul, thanks for the great app I can use by your great work.

There is a small matter I walked into , which is indirectly related to the player.html app,
I think. I will shortly describe the situation, maybe you could give a direction on it.

I use the player.html app in combination with a html page.
In the html code I sue a iframe to show a video on the page, where a video is forwarded
by a src tag. I could give you the complete code, but it is probably not necessary for you to know what happens.
The whole thing works good. too good.
I use 2 iframes on my site playing video's that are listed in your videoapp player.html
The problem is on site load, they start playing at once all together, which gives a chaos for the user experience.
A third iframe fowarded to another external source on vk.com, just waits till the user presses play.

Before you ask, yes, I know video forwarding by iframe is old coding, we should use HTML5 and
the 'video' tag now.
For the user group however, it i needed to play on all older webrowsers as well.
I don't want people be depended on HTML5 if they live in other parts of the world.
Backwards compatibility.

My question;
since the issue only occurs on iframes that are forwarded to local video's on a path where the player.html
is in use, it could be something in the configuration of player.html
Is there an option to switch off autoplay in player.html?

ps, I tried to link with a javascript function as well, for example like this: window.location.assign("video-api-link-player.html")
Same problem it start autoplaying.

Sorry if my perception and attempts are poor. I am sure I am trying something unusual here.
However, any help is welcome. Thanks in advance.

Dirk.

update:

Paul, in the iframes I mentioned, I use as video source in the src tag, a link which I copied in the browser,
while playing the video by your html script. When a video plays in your script a long line of api like code is displayed in
the url. It is this I use as video source in the iframe. Would it be possible to change something in that link to prevent autoplay?

Feature request - Show remaining time in player

Hi,

i would like to fully switch from video-js to player.html but i have one problem. I would use a script that sort of works like a caption tool which (based on timing) shows certain things. All my data with the timecodes are structured that i have to rely on the elapsed time of the video.

In videojs i can get this info via my script via class="vjs-remaining-time-display"
in player.html unfortunately only the elapsed time is shown.
Anyway you can help me to get these numbers or add a setting that the user can choose what he wants to see?

Best regards!
