@David-Rod, this may be distro-specific, and on my machine the truncation of library is very slight after the MS font install.
If I remember correctly, @thermokarst and I discussed using inkscape (or a similar vector art program) to outline the words 'library' etc, then replacing the text currently being rendered by the page with those vector graphics.
A clunky, low-priority fix, but should make rendering robust across platforms.

This is a font issue --- your system is missing the necessary fonts. Also, the stylesheet in FF appears to be rendering the word "library" much more largely than in chrome. One option is to update the style here to make it a bit wider.
Question, do you see the same issue on workshops.qiime2.org?

I do see the same issue at workshops.qiime2.org, @thermokarst.

Great, thanks. Can you see if this is still a problem for you after you ensure you have MS fonts installed? See this link for details: https://community.linuxmint.com/tutorial/view/25

Issue still present at library
, not at workshops.

Can you double-check the following for me?
Add the rule max-width: 180px
to the img
tag for the logo:
from library.
@thermokarst , setting max-width: 180px
does not improve the situation. Setting max-height: 46px;
fixes the issue, but (obviously) makes the logo and nav-bar oversized.
Seems like height and aspect ratio are taking precedence over width? I spent some time tinkering in the CSS inspector, but was unable to find a solution.

When you have 10 minutes to look at this together, just grab me, we can take a closer look.

Just a heads up @thermokarst and @ChrisKeefe, I spent time replicating the issue by installing Ubuntu on my machine. I had issues with truncation to library
, but none to workshops
. I ran the command mentioned by Matt, which installs MS fonts:

The issue seems to be resolved regardless of the zoom level for the browser window. I am not sure what the next step would be to resolve the issue, but I am happy to help with this one if needed. Thanks.
