= About =

This script makes gpg-encrypted backups of your bitcoin wallet.

= How to use =

 * Put the script somewhere; I put mine into ~/.cron.d 
* Make script executable and writable only by your account
    chmod 0755 ~/.cron.d/backup_wallet.sh
* Change the settings in the upper part to point to the correct directories, binaries and gpg-keys.
* Insert the correct command(s) to transfer the backup to a safe location. Examples are provides in the script.
* Run on a regular basis. If possible, use cron/anacron/systemd to run. Make sure your backup commands can run unattended and without asking for passwords. To make a backup every day at 4:12am via cron, run
    crontab -e
and add the following line
    12 4 * * * ~/.cron.d/backup_wallet.sh > /dev/null
