vscode-linux-themes's Issues

Yaru: tiny improvements

Version Info

  • Theme: Yaru (not dark)

Description

  1. the badges are orange, but in yaru they are green #0e8420
  2. The terminal is correctly purple as in yaru but in a super white window, this hardcore contrast to the dark purple is imho too much therefor I would suggest #f7f7f7 for the background and #3b3b3b for the foreground
  3. The selection color is dark purple with a dark foreground in the light yaru version. The selected text is unreadable, I did not find the correct color for the foreground color but I would either suggest to somehow transparentize the purple or to have a white selection text color :)

Thanks for bringing yaru to vscode and best regards ๐Ÿบ

Publish vscode-linux-themes to Open VSX

Version Info

  • Theme: ALL

Description
Dear rdnlsmith,
Please publish this extension to the Open VSX marketplace.

Context

Unfortunately, as Microsoft prohibits usages of the Microsoft marketplace by any other products or redistribution of .vsix files from it, in order to use VS Code extensions in non-Microsoft products, we kindly ask that you take ownership of the VS Code extension namespace in Open VSX and publish this extension on Open VSX.

What is Open VSX? Why does it exist?

Open VSX is a vendor neutral alternative to the MS marketplace used by most other derivatives of VS Code like VSCodium, Gitpod, OpenVSCode, Theia-based IDEs, and so on.

You can read on about Open VSX at the Eclipse Foundation's Open VSX FAQ.

How can you publish to Open VSX?

The docs to publish an extension can be found here. This process is straightforward and shouldn't take too long. Essentially, you need an authentication token and to execute the ovsx publish command to publish your extension. There's also a doc explaining the whole process with an example GitHub Action workflow.

Arc colors too washed out

Just discovered this theme, it looks great!

However, I think the syntax highlighting colors are a bit too washed out to resemble the original color scheme.

Integrated terminal not themed

Just noticed that the integrated terminal is also not themed.

It would be great if you could fix this.

Sorry for the barrage of bug reports!

Difference between SolarLiner and rdnlsmith?

When I search for "Linux Themes for VS Code" in the extensions search textbox, I get two results:

  • One submitted by the user SolarLiner, with 601K downloads, a Details description with broken links to images, and the Changelog saying this is the initial version.
  • Another one submitted by rdnlsmith, with 30K downloads, a Details description with correctly loaded links to images, and the Changelog showing actual version history.

Both have in the Details description a link to this repo, at the very bottom.

So what's the difference? Which one should I install? Are both yours?

Const and Let can have a different colour?

I love this theme. But there is one difference between this and other popular themes. Some of the popular themes and even the default theme have a different colour for const and let in JavaScript

It would be a lot nicer if this theme has this feature. Thanks!

Showcase gallery of all styles

As discussed in #19:

what do you think about a gallery page (i.e. another markdown file) with the names and screenshots of all themes?

Yes, I think that is a good idea. In addition, I think it would be nice to also have a grid of smaller thumbnail images still in the README.
Iโ€™d be interested to see if a version of this site could be run locally in order to generate thumbnails (the hosted version appears to be limited to a handful of themes per extension).

Add support for inputOption.activeBackground

VS Code will be introducing a new token color, inputOption.activeBackground, in the July release (1.37). This color is for showing when a button toggle is active (search, find, terminal find, etc.). It also re-uses focusBorder but in the Arc Dark theme the focus color is set to transparent, which means the new token color is also transparent. See below where you can't tell which item is "active", please consider adding support for this. You can test this by using the Insiders version, which already adds this.
