Would it make sense if I create a PR bringing in Google Guava collection Transformers? Or is the vision for this project to only interop with ListenableFuture?

Is this just going to be a bunch of RxJava utility classes?

Right now the API requires defining a Scheduler. Why is that required?

I see two possible defaults:

1. It just runs on the thread ListenableFuture calls back on
2. It can be scheduled on Scheduler.computation() by default

I think (1) is the correct default. Someone can use observeOn if they want to move the scheduling. Thus, I don't fully understand why Scheduler even needs to be passed in.

I would love to use this library but I can't add the JCenter repo to our internal repository. Can you have JCenter publish this to Maven Central as well? Our repo will pick it up from there.
