I am pretty sure that the Spline Component is causing this issue. It's important that the Spline dz parameters are always strictly greater than 0. I suspect the fitting process is making them 0 at some point. Can you set the lower bounds to 0.0001, that should fix it.

Thanks so much, really appreciate your kind help, I will try that.
And I am using slab+slab+slab to substitute the Spline component, currently working well.
I am new to neutron reflectivity analysis and Motofit software, Could I ask you help when I have sone questions?
Like, I found some parameters have huge Sigama value, as shown SLD value shown below, 2.18+ 1.5*10^7? does this mean the fitting is unreasonable?

I can't see either of those pictures. Typically if you have large uncertainties it's because the model isn't sensitive to some of the parameters. If you change the parameter with a large uncertainty can you see the predicted NR curve change at all?
