wikipedia image request too slow on mobile
currently sends wikipedia a request for a full-res image, which is too slow for mobile devices. maybe revise to make request for lower res images, though this would require an additional API call ...
update geocoding api call to include authorization
running into geocoder api call limits ... need to update to authorize through google maps geocoding

switch to flickr api to grab bird photos
currently using wikipedia api to grab images for each bird species. however, the quality and nature of the photos vary wildly! maybe it'd be better to switch to the flickr api to grab the most popular image of each bird?
