maybe could be easily done and good for running it everywhere, except if you need the latest and greatest python features. ;)

I see there is some templation to abbreviate everything, just for the LOLs.

But german speakers might find "Abbr." as button text confusing as it also is often used for "Abbrechen" ("Cancel").

How about using tox, py.test, ...?

There seems to be some disagreement in the code / docs, do a global search & replace.

Without any format, werkzeug's redirect does a local redirect, i.e. redirects to abrv.de/google.com. This is now fixed by adding http to any URL not … well. Not starting with http - this neglects URLs of other protocols such as FTP.

one use case of url shorteners involves manually reading (and writing down) of a short URL.
for this it would be good to remove easily confusable char combinations from the default configuration.

Like:

• 0 and o
• ...
