About Julia Silge https://juliasilge.com/ : Julia Silge is a data scientist and software engineer at RStudio where she works on open source modeling tools. She studied physics and astronomy, finishing her PhD in 2005. She worked in academia (teaching and doing research) and ed tech before moving into data science and discovering R. She's both an international speaker and a real-world practitioner focusing on data analysis and machine learning practice.
