Dev Notes

  • The project uses a line length of 120 characters
  • The code can ideally be re-used for any conference that uses the Sessionize API
  • The base url for the Sessionize API for Fluttercon has been gitignored. To run the app and see conference data, switch to the not-for-prod/mock-api-response branch that uses hardcoded Fluttercon 2023 responses instead.
  • When running the app, make sure you set the flavor for the build to production
  • ApiClient requires a baseUrl and so if you are running the app on the not-for-prod/mock-api-response branch, this can be set to http://localhost

fluttercon's Issues

README is missing instructions for running the app

Thanks for open-sourcing this repo @rohan20

I checked it out and noticed your recommendation for using the branch with the mocked responses but that's not enough to get the app to run as you still need to specify the flavor and ensure there is a baseUrl set and so this should be included in the README

Cannot run the app locally - conference_secrets.dart missing

If I want to run the app to the app, the file conference_secrets.dart is missing. It is not checked in. Hence, one cannot run the app on the local device. Please provide information, how one can start to fork your app.

conference_data.dart

import 'package:conference_data/src/conference_secrets.dart';

Idea: Link Resources, Multi-year app

Highly appreciated app for ftcon23 :)

I'd love to have the resources linked within the app (especially if also available for web)
https://github.com/bizz84/fluttercon_23_resources

Past ftcon-years could become a sort of archive which keep in memory my favorites (or even new category, actually visited ones) with links to resources filled in the aftermath (

and the current year is where the active search/speakers/schedule is happening

Users will keep app installed & return to ftcon readily prepared with the ever-since installed app :)
