Question about single-node SLURM "cluster"

Hi-

I'm sorry if this is an annoying way to try to get in touch with you. Your writeup on how to run SLURM on a single machine was very helpful, but I've run into an issue and I wonder if you might be able to help. I've spent a lot of time googling this and I've encountered one other person with the same issue (https://serverfault.com/questions/1008153/single-node-slurm-server-restrict-interactive-cpu-usage?newreg=3d06a0db6122486cadf77ef25f21583c) but no obvious solution.

The issue is basically that when tasks are scheduled by SLURM, they are run under the user's account who scheduled them, and as such they end up in the restricted cgroup and their resource use is limited. Can you suggest any way around this? Thanks!
