I make a new text layer. I click command+J the layer name changes to some number values. No button is created. I tried grouping a rectangle and text layer and selecting group and hitting command+J. Group gets a new name. Can't resize button then hit command+J.

What am I missing?

I need padding less than 0, like "l:-4", the element is center of BG

Example SF UI Text, Bold, 14pt
Character spacing 0.75

12:18:12:18

Result is a BG rect that has a non-integer position = blurry edges.

sketch 52.2 couldn't use???

First, I'm a huge fan of this plugin, so thank you. Unfortunately, after updating to Sketch 3.8 this morning, the plugin no longer seems to work. When I try to run the plugin, either with ⌘J or by running the plugin from the plugins menu, the layer does change the text layer name to 12:18:12:18 but no group or background layers are created. thank you for this great plugin.
One great feature would be to give the elements witdth and height values.

For our GUI for android elements we use compo in combination with dynamic reposition plugin to achieve the following result:

Basically we run:

1. Compo plugin after we change the length of the text to align the background (padding box)
2. Dynamic Reposition plugin to align the actual button background

Hello there! Dynamic button plugin now supports the usage of plugin inside the symbols, which makes workflow way more joyful. But it's missing a cool feature that compo has, support of complex buttons with icons.
Now I would love to see compo supporting the symbols please! Thanks for the greate plugin.

Sketch version 3.8.1

The text block label is created correctly but the UI/component group and background BG rect layers are not created since the last Sketch updates. Have to manually create the right group and BG layer now.

please can you fix asap?

Hi guys,
what is really really missing, is the functionality from “Dynamic Reposition” where you are able to set width and height of a layer defining its left and right padding (or bottom top) and then define the width in between ... that is so so comfortable and missing in Compo

example: l:10:r:10:w:100% ... this would stretch to the full width excluded the padding defined
example for the height: t:10: b : 10:h:100% (ignore spaces ... )

The plugin no longer works for me after updating Sketch to version 3.8.1

This happened by accident, but I found a bug that will consistently crash Sketch.

If a shape is selected, double-clicked to show the anchor points, and then Compo is run, Sketch will crash.

This is a cool plugin. It would be awesome to be able to use variables in addition to numbers.

eg.

$padding-y:10
Layer Name b:$padding-y

Love your plugin but it all seemed to stop working last week when I downloaded the most recent Sketch update. I'm currently on 45.1 and still no results.

Selecting text and activating the plugin simply doesn't do anything anymore. Also, I can no longer resize shapes from past Sketch files that were built back with Compo.

Please help! I'm in the middle of a major UI project that would benefit incredibly (and save me a ton of time) from your plugin.

This is a quick note to remind you that Sketch 45 will include a plugin update system.

It would be awesome if you could add support to it (it's really easy!) before Sketch 45 comes out. Ideally, you should release an update for your plugin while we're still in Sketch 44, so your users will have a nice & easy experience when 45 is released.

We've just released a beta for Sketch 3.8 with support for our new Action API, that allows you to run a Plugin in response to user actions, and it would be a very good fit for this.

Either mention it in your Readme that the background layer needs to be named BG, or ideally don't have the plug-in rely on that name. Something I liked better about Relabel Button plug-in.

I thought the plug-in had a bug, since it was making a new background layer even though I had one. then I renamed it to BG and it worked for my existing background.
