I'm on Windows 11 23H2 and use Start All Back and Translucent TB. When I click on start.exe nothing happens. Maybe I don't understand how to install it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Great utility, work on Windows 11 23h2.
But there is a small problem - after restarting explorer.exe need restart start.exe
Is it possible to fix it somehow and keep the program constantly?

is it safe to use? will it break any system settings if windows10 got new update. I want to use it but worry about system files.

Thank you for creating TranslucentSM, it's very cool, it's similar to BeautySearch for Win10

I have placed the executable inside the start menu folder %appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup to run every time I start Windows. Then, the first time TranslucentSM is run, it creates a dll file (TAPdll.dll) in the same path where the executable is, and every time Windows is run, the following box always appears:

and if I delete the dll file, it is only recreated when start.exe is run after Windows startup/restart and the same box you already saw appears again.

Another thing, the translucent effect is lost when I click on the search field of the start menu as you can see in the video, can you fix it?

The effect doesn't show on the full-screen Windows 10 start menu.

I think it would be better the right click behavior works same with left click.

Can we hide the entire Recommended section just to get a customized full fledged pinned section, I guess many people don't use it due to activity privacy and get more space for pinned section! (default from settings)

I noticed that when explorer.exe gets restarted TranslucentSM isn't hooking the Start Menu anymore and I have to rerun the program. It would be nice if TranslucentSM could automatically re-inject itself.

I can't start TranslucntSM after upgrading to 26100.1297, the process ends immediately after opening the start.exe and the start menu gets stuck for a while before it regains response

There is difference in opacity between the main pane and the bottom pane of start page as seen also from the screenshots, i believe this is due to the different colors. Can you make make these sections of start equal ?

Upon running the latest version of start.exe, the Start Menu wouldn't open. And the StartMenuExperience stops responding. I tested again with v0.5, and it works as usual. I am on Windows 10 (22H2).

Let the start menu, taskbar and action center be translucent too.

For TranslucentSM to work, one has to set "Transparency effects" on in Windows Settings > Personalization > Colors. This has the side effect of setting Windows File Explorer title bar translucent, which is undesired by me.

However, TranslucentTB doesn't need that setting to be set, somehow.

Can you please consider not using setting "Transparency effects", same as TranslucentTB?

Hi and congratz for this awesome tool I've been looking for years ! my question is there a way to set a custom background image ? if not it would be perfect to allow that for users to pic any let's say PNG picture for transparency :) or maybe is there a registry entry to do that in translucentSM section to point to a custom picture path ?

after a restart of my computer it suddenly stops working. i have the edit button, but it is not transparent at all. I have reinstalled and nothing.
