azure-cost-management-pbit's Issues

API v2 - table wasn't found

I'm getting the following error and I've loaded my access key correctly:

I don't really know enough about PowerBI to troubleshoot this.

UPDATE:

I've disabled those 2 tables from loading and this allowed the other tables to load into the report. However, there's not a lot of data in there. I've used the Azure Cost Management report from Chris Browman and also the official one from Microsoft and they both work fine. I can see lots of data in those. But not in your one. Not sure what I'm doing wrong here.

UPDATE 2:

OK, have figured it out (I think). I read the instructions and turns out that I just had to remove Step 1 from the API v2 - Usage table:

I have no idea why this is designed like this, because you're essentially missing about 80% of the data in the report. With this step removed, I can see way more data and the report is a lot more useable now.

Also, I tried to load this report in PowerBI workspace and tried to set up a scheduled refresh. However, this report apparently wants me to set up a PowerBI Gateway or something, which is weird. I'm guessing it's because it's loading the .xslx templates? I'm not a PowerBI expert, so I have no idea how to fix this. I don't really want to install the connector/gateway app on my machine, just so it can be used to refresh the report.....The other Cost Optimization reports that I've found on Github or elsewhere are able to be loaded into PowerBI workspace can schedule refresh just fine.

How to get account key?

In the instructions, it says I need to generate an account key. However, this is deprecated in the EA portal. I generated an API in Azure Portal (which is the link that it redirects you to from EA Portal) and tried to use the API key, but it still doesn't work.
