Help Generating the Gerber

Hey hello! I hope you doing great, first of all thanks for this repo and keyboard it looks fantastic!

Quick question, It is possible to add the compiled gerber files to download somewhere or make a document helping someone that never generated a gerber file before to do it so?

Is the upper plate required for mx switches

Hello. I'm new in building keyboard.

Is the upper pcb (where the switches are attached to before in contatct with the main pcb) a required part of the build with mx switches?

Cover.dxf file has duplicate cut lines

I just put in an order for the acrylic cover with Ponoko, and they're telling me the Cover.dxf contains duplicate cut lines in both top corners. This causes the laser cutter to cut the same location twice, which is likely to cause problems with the end result.

I found out 6 identical lines by converting the DXF file into an SVG using Inkscape, grepping for 'd="m', then sorting them alphabetically. I manually removed them from the SVG file and resubmitted it to Ponoko. Even after that, they're saying there are double lines there.

Prebuilt Version?

Hi just wanted to check if there is a version for sale anywhere? Noticed that splitkb.com doesn't have anything available yet. I'd be happy to dish out some moola to get this layout. Don't know why there aren't other minimal layouts with four dedicated thumb buttons.

NC license is not Open Source

First of all, I am 100% sure you have noble reasons for it.
Secondly, I love your project; thank you! :-)

I know many people who use NC, because they are anti-capitalism.
Sadly, it is not that easy ...
What do you want to prevent by using NC?

  • A chinese company mass producing your keyboard, and thus making a profit from your free work?
  • Some one-man company offering a build service?
  • mass-drops?
  • ...?

All the really bad capitalists schemes I can imagine, would just use an other design, be it self-made or not.
Also, they would want an SMD design, as it has only benefits for them.
Practically, you prevent small/alternative businesses and individuals to supply a viable service to customers, which is not interesting for big companies.
in short: it is hurting all the wrong people.

someone elses take on that:

Lost wallet

I need someone to help me recover my lost wallet

Creating a 5x3 Variant

I'm very excited about the Torn. It seems to be the best of the Corne with the comfort of a Kyria thumb-cluster. The through-hole components are gorgeous. Kudos on an amazing design.

I'm curious how difficult it would be to make a 5x3 variant. I've never used KiCad before. I'm sure I can remove some components and figure out how to reduce the PCB width. Do you have any tips or suggestions?

Possiblity of using a USBTiny instead of USBasp

Hoping you might let me know if it's possible to burn the bootloader and subsequently flash firmwares using USBTiny in lieu of USBasp. Simply replacing the programmer in the makefile.inc will get something burnt, but the pinout in incorrect. Almost everything works, but I can't flash firmwares and a couple switches don't seem to be working.

Very much appreciate it!

Connection both sides with jumper

hello everybody, sorry if this is a stupid question, but because i'm not able to find the specific model of the trrs jack component here in Indonesia, i am wondering if its possible to conect both side of the keyboard using normal jumper wire and some header pins

bongocat dont move

hello,torn Hello,
torn is an impressive keyboard, I learned a lot from it,
But I recently encountered a problem, I want to transplant the bongocat code in torn to my own pad, although the kitten is displayed normally, but wpm seems to be unable to be obtained, so that the kitten can't pat the table, which makes me It's a headache, I don't know what's wrong, is the key value of the small keyboard not in the scope of wpm, this makes my head big,
I would appreciate it if you could give me a little guidance, thanks a lot
