lumberjack-obsidian's Issues

Ability to specify time format

Hello! I love this plugin so much, it will make me so much more productive! However I use a different format for logs (1:40pm not 13:40) and I would love to be able to specify that over the built in method. Thank you in advance!

Vault root as inbox

Hey there!
I was trying to leave the inbox directory empty to see if I could create drafts on in vault's root, but all I get is an error. Is there a way to do that? I prefer to have them all there before fleshing them out and categorizing them. If not, maybe I can give it a shot and open a PR?

Insert newline before log lines

Hello, excellent plugin. Thank you!

I am using this to insert timestamped logs into my daily note, however I would like them to be separated by a blank line.

I currently abuse the timestamp format to add a dash after the timestamp (HH:mm -). I tried continuing this pattern, but can't seem to get it to insert a new line. I've tried a varying number of backslashes, but all seem to just write an n before the timestamp. e.g. \\\\nHH:mm -

Can't create a new note

I invoked the obsidian://timber from a shortcut and it always reports the file can't be created. It asks if the folder exists.

I have my settings configured to create the file in my Personal/Misc folder, which already includes some files.

Timber should reopen existing note

Hi Ryan,

I just want to have one timber file per day, so I set the filename template to YYYY-MM-DD [Note]. I'm on iOS.
It works fine when the note file is not present, but when the note file is present, it just opens obsidian without switching to the timber note.

Btw: Great plug-in!

Shortcuts on Android

How do I set up a shortcut like obsidian://log on Android?
If I add it to homescreen from Firefox, when I tap on it, it says "App isn't installed", but if I type it directly on the search bar in Firefox and go to "open in app", it works.

Jump to header in daily note

Hi, I really like this idea and have been looking for something like this. My daily note however is somewhat structured in certain categories (like news, journal, pictures...), and I'd usually want to log something under one of those headings (ideally at the end, just before the next heading). Is it possible to provide an argument such that you can jump to the end of such a given heading?

Lumberjack inserts bullets between other bullets

Hi, when I installed Lumberjack 1.2.1 in Obsidian 0.13.21 it worked fine, at the beginning. I want it to add bullet points with timestamps at the bottom of the # Journal header. Instead, it now adds bullets between other timestamps or sometimes it adds bullets under another header. If I trigger the command from outside the daily note, it adds the timestamp in between other bullets and then moves the cursor at the bottom of the list. It's a bit all over the place 😅

Change the target file for log?

Brilliant plugin, thank you.

Would it be possible to either

  • change the target of the "log" command, either to the weekly file, or to a static file?
  • add a separate command to do this? E.g. obsidian://addweekly or obsidian://addstatic

This would help the plugin work better with different workflows. Thank you 🙏.

Options for Tasks & Notes

This is a great plugin. I’d love to offer one suggestion as a feature request.

I’d like to quickly log both notes & tasks, but under different headings. It would be nice if there was a command and settings for both options. i.e. log (creates a note under a selected heading) & logtask (creates a task under its selected heading)

IOS Background reload

Thanks for telling me how to use this plugin in a previous email, I use it very often now and find it very useful. However, on IOS, there is a situation when it takes up a lot of memory (usually after opening the camera to take a picture), opening Obsidian with the log shortcut requires a reload, and direct input is not accessible, i.e. there is actually no command to run this log, only the main Obsidian program is opened.

In the same case, I found no problem using the Memos plugin, and even with such a reload, direct input can still be accessed, even if it is slightly slower.

Can you please tell me if this issue can be handled? I'm not quite sure if this is within the scope of what this plugin can handle, or if there is another solution? Thank you!

Unable to create to file

Hi,

i installed your plugin according to the instructions. I can run the timber command without any problems but when I run the log command it says Unable to create file..
If I delete my daily note, I don’t get this error but the command doesn’t put the cursor at the right position. Instead it’s at the very beginning of the file. The position I configured is - #Log.
Any clues as to what might be wrong here?

Thank you!
