I think this would be better. While you can easily mix https into http blogs, you cannot mix http into https sites. Yellowled?

Probably the best idea would be to just skip the protocol in that link altogether.
<link rel="stylesheet" href="//fonts.googleapis.com/…>
That way, it should request the correct protocol automagically.

Fixed in d98356 and 28d8a0 for 2.0 and master (since I consider this a bugfix, it should be in 1.7.1 as well). Also fixed for backend preview.
