My host is a Mac OS X(El Capitan) and the dbapi fails.

Just installed HANA 2 Express and the system number there is '90' and not '00' as explained in the documentation and screenshot ... so you need to use system number '90' when registering the HANA system via Eclipse.

I guess the only issue with this is that in 60 days you owe Suse $2000-$4000 in subscription fees or .. start over to get a new freekey.

I've tried updating from OpenSuse 12.1 repositories but Suse for SAP seems to be several generations ahead of Open and so nearly every update wants to downport critical versions of libs (like ssl you indicated here).

Hello together,

i downloaded and install the hxe.ova file ( Vers. 2.0 SP00 ) and Import / run it in the VM Player. Starting up the database i changed the initial Passwords. Continuing with configuration the console throws an error message about changing the root key for the SystemDB ( attached .jpg file ). From within Eclipse i cannot add the system ( SAP HANA express Edition ), because there is an error in the user/pw combination (SYSTEM/NEW_PWD).
Any Solutions ?

This does not work for me. My HXE VM is up and running as expected, i can connect from the Eclipse Dev Studio, so i think the HXE installation is correct.
I followed the tutorial but cannot connect, always get a
SAP DBTech JDBC: Cannot connect to jdbc:sap://:30015/ [Cannot connect to host :30015 [Connection refused], -813.].

Following setup of SAP HANA, express edition:
Installed binary files including XSC (without XSA) created tenant database with scriptserver (for AFL) and added HXE license.

Everything works fine (executing PAL functions, etc.) until a restart of the tenant database. After the restart the scriptserver can't be started. The scriptserver alert log states the following lines:

It was already mentioned that the SAP HANA Express corrects this issue with the newest revision but I still got the error message.

For the CREATE DATABASE statement I receive error message

general error: Database could not be started;start databaseServer for database=3 on : hxehost:30040 failed

in the prerequisites the download capability of store.sap.com is mentioned to get the necessary ngdbc.jar archive.

Could you please change this to "use the download option of SAP HANA Express Edition download manager"?

The jdbc driver within the HXE download files is more than half a year newer than the one which can be downloaded (after 'approval' process) from store.sap.com.
