nemo-extensions's Introduction

Schorschii's Extensions for the Nemo File Manager

This repo bundles useful actions and scripts for the Nemo file manager.

Attention: Linux Mint 21.3 introduced an official Nemo actions repository. All of my Nemo extensions are transferred into the cinnamon-spices-actions repo and will now be maintained there. Therefore, my Nemo-Extensions repo is now archived.

Please download the Nemo actions now directly from within the Linux Mint Actions Manager (can be found in the system settings) or from the Cinnamon Spices website. Consider the corresponding README.md and do not forget to install the necessary packages described there.

New actions, only available in the official Nemo actions repo:

nemo-extensions's Issues

Please update your plugins

They do not seem to work no more.
I tried the Davinci plugin as well as the image compressor and none of them appear to be working. They do not show up in the menu.
EDIT! Your mistake was to add Cinnamon as the condition. Once I removed that, it worked.

zst compression not supported on Debian based systems

Hi,

First of all, thanks for the work creating these packages, it is very appreciated!

Secondly, regarding the new release I get stuck on the following issue:

The .deb files are created with zst compression:

root@dev101:/usr/local/src/nemo/deb# file *
control.tar.zst: Zstandard compressed data (v0.8+), Dictionary ID: None
data.tar.zst: Zstandard compressed data (v0.8+), Dictionary ID: None
Nemo-Action-Compress-Images.deb: Debian binary package (format 2.0), with control.tar.zs, data compression zst
Nemo-Action-Compress-PDF.deb: Debian binary package (format 2.0), with control.tar.zs, data compression zst
Nemo-Action-Convert-MSG.deb: Debian binary package (format 2.0), with control.tar.zs, data compression zst
Nemo-Action-DaVinci-Audio.deb: Debian binary package (format 2.0), with control.tar.zs, data compression zst
Nemo-Action-Send-By-Email.deb: Debian binary package (format 2.0), with control.tar.zs, data compression zst

But this .zst compression is not supported on Debian / Ubuntu systems.
When installing this results in the following error:

root@dev101:/usr/local/src/nemo/deb# dpkg -i Nemo-Action-Compress-Images.deb
dpkg-deb: error: archive 'Nemo-Action-Compress-Images.deb' uses unknown compression for member 'control.tar.zst', giving up
dpkg: error processing archive Nemo-Action-Compress-Images.deb (--install):
dpkg-deb --control subprocess returned error exit status 2
Errors were encountered while processing:
 Nemo-Action-Compress-Images.deb

Can it be changed to tar.gz for example?

Many thanks!

Shell script modification to the davinci-audio.sh to use MP4 extension and delete the original file.

What a wonderful script for Davinci Resolve Linux users!!! Nice job.

I have been updating my file's folder by selecting all the MP4 files and converting them to ".converted.mov" files, then rename them all by rename action in Nemo.

It would be incredible if you could create a shell script that will delete the original file after conversion and then rename the converted.mov to the original .mp4 extension. That would be just one click and all conversion is done.

Regards,
Rob Oudendijk

Compress PDF extra line

Scorschii,

I added to the “action” line the following (borrowed from the Davinci shell of you) to have a popup what lets you know the file is still converting.

`	| zenity --progress --text "Please wait...\n$filePath" --auto-close --pulsate --auto-kill --no-cancel"`

Warm regards,
Rob Oudendijk
