NovaNest

  • A seamless web based chat application for real time chatting and sharing data with friends online.

Tech Stack Used:

  1. JavaScript
  2. Node.js
  3. Express.js
  4. MongoDB
  5. Socket.io (Websockets)
  6. React.js
  7. CSS / HTML

Usage:

  • The live project is accessible on the following URL : https://novanest-prod.onrender.com

Setting up the project locally:

  1. Clone the project repository:
git clone https://github.com/SCube27/NovaNest.git
  1. Install all the dependencies:
npm install
  1. To start up the server:
npm run server
  1. To build the project for production (Optional):
npm run build
  1. [NOTE] To store the necesary environment variables for the project refer the template.env file and create your own .env file in the project repository.

Project UI:

  1. Home Page: Home Chats Page

  2. SignUp Page: Sign Up Page

  3. LogIn Page: Log In Page

  • [NOTE] Keep the PORT number that you are using in the .env file same as that in server.js and socket.js in backend.
