Is beRSErc a good backronym?
Or is it too aggro and will send the wrong signals to newcomers?

Create inroads to university leadership/CIOs to establish the RSE idea

I think that ultimately, what we may want to see is some sort of implementation of the RSE role at universities.

As a first step, I'd like to see a discussion - at a chapter meeting - with local university leadership/CIOs about how they deal with people creating software, and with the software itself.

At a panel at RSEConUK 2019, the research provost of UCL was present, and discussing RSE setups. I'd like to see the same here.

Decide on spokespeople, etc.

The plan for chapters (cf. DE-RSE/chapter#1) outline that

So I guess we should define those.

Relates to #1, #4.

Organize Carpentries workshops in the region

How many Carpentries instructors do we have among us?

I think it'd be great if we pooled resources and organized Carpentries workshops in the region, as a local chapter.

Well, organize one to start with. This could also help boost visibility for our group and de-RSE in general.

How do we want to organize meetings?

If so, what would be a good frequency? Monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly, etc,? Or based on Doodle/DFN Terminplaner?

Do we want to alternate between, e.g., Berlin and Potsdam?

Should we appoint someone at a meeting who is responsible for the next one?
