openmediavault-ldap's Issues

Error when uploading .deb to OMV 5 plugins

Hello,

First thanks for your effort on translating the LDAP plugin to OMV 5 !

I managed to build the package but I get an error when trying to upload it on the plugin module of OMV 5 saying "Invalid upload request."

Erreur #0: OMV\Rpc\Proxy\Exception: Invalid upload request. in /usr/share/php/openmediavault/rpc/proxy/upload.inc:47 Stack trace: #0 /usr/share/php/openmediavault/rpc/proxy/json.inc(92): OMV\Rpc\Proxy\Upload->preExecute() #1 /var/www/openmediavault/upload.php(44): OMV\Rpc\Proxy\Json->handle() #2 {main}

Any idea on taht error ? Do I have to upload it a different way ?

Thanks !

Enhancement for home directories

Hello,

during playing around with OMV, Samba and LDAP, as well as this plugin, I found two points that might be addressed by enhancements in this plugin:

  1. I configured home directory for users in OMV to point to my data volume (e.g. /srv/dev-disk-by-uuid-0815/users and enabled user home directories in Samba. Now, when I login with an LDAP account, it tries to access /home/ instead of the configure (base) home directory. I guess this is because in LDAP, I have configured the home directory to be /home/. I fixed this by replacing /home on my OMV by a symbolic link to the real home on my data volume. A better approach in my opinion would be to override the home directory from LDAM in pam_ldap IMHO.
  2. I think for a Samba + LDAP combination, where users might be created in external LDAP, the home directories are not automatically created. The plugin could include / configure pam_mkhomedir to resolve this.

Note: all of the above points are probably easily solved when using SSSD

OMV6 uploading .deb file

Hello, I've been having issues with where to actually 'upload' the .deb file after creating it, do i need to move it into some folder within the OS for it to be recognized in the plugins tab within the web-server or is it done through other means?

Apologized if its a silly question, I'm rather new to OMV.

SSL/TLS configuration generation errors

In the smb.conf there's a stray ' that comes in when you enable SSL in the directory service tab

it'll have passdb backend = ldapsam:ldap's'://HOST:PORT

instead of passdb backend = ldapsam:ldaps://HOST:PORT

and thus breaking smb.conf totally. Dunno what's going on, but I'm suspecting it's breaking ldap.conf and/or slapd.d/ configuration as well.
